The Five-Star unification at a point.

By: Omulongo Hassan Wasswa.

In Uganda, sports has been a myth of the legends. When the striker nets against the opponent we all celebrate, but afterwards we forget him there and then.

When Uganda is netted a winner goal by the opponent through our defender,we then go against the defender. But the question is; when shall we appreciate all of them in all the time?

We support foreign football but when shall we learn that love shown by the European devotees whether we win or lose the spirit should remain higher!

When our players hang their football shoes we erase their names from our memories. In Europe where we push our sights they keep on following their legends even before their passing away.

In our country if you ask my son " do remember this player?" You actually feel embarrassed if a player is a Ugandan, who might even be our neighbour at the house when he answers a big " No!". In Europe,if I ask my young daughter "can you name this player in the photograph?" Surprisingly she will explain from A to Z about the player who is not our National player.

The question then goes to the responsibles, what should be done to solve that problem?

Uganda has lost a big number of professional players, but the collection of condolences and eulogies are only sent the day they are laid to rest. On 27th March, 2016 we lost the flamboyant juggling goalie Abel Dhaira (RIP) up to now what happened to his name and the stadium at Walukuba?
Of recent,we lost the elegant and leadership oriented Jimmy Kirunda (RIP) on May 25, 2020, and so many other stars! But when shall we start praising them before their bodies are rested in peace?

Despite the fact that we can't do better in that category, the solution might be "change is in our hands!"

However, Mulongo Sports has decided to at least try out what they can really do for the Ugandans before it's too late for all of us.

In the Eastern Region, basing in Walukuba/Masese division we have been enjoying some brighter talents like late Abel Dhaira, Moses Oloya, Aggery Madoi,Erick Dhaira and so many others. It's always better to remember them at their time of work not only resting time!

Here is the list of Masese five-stars who have been sounding country wide of recent. The list is not final, but just an opinion by Mulongo Sports.

5. Lwanga Emmanuel:
According to Mulongo Sports survey,Lwanga positions number five due to his magical performance.

The central defender " Lucio" was key factor in the Edgers Youth Programme, Kampala which participates in Kampala Regional League. He joined the club in 2018 up to 2020.

The centre-back appeared in 13 matches and netted 2 goals with 2 assists at Edgers Youth Programme.

The sweeper-defender is mostly remarked in the 2017 Jinja SSS squad that grabbed the trophy from the Wakiso giants St Mary's Kitende.

Additionally, his hard work at the club gifts him the position number five.

4. Isaac Bewayo "Buffon".
The Masese tiddler wins position number four. Due to Mulongo Sports, the youngster is the only young goal keeper who made it at a very young age.
Growing up in a soundless family background didn't stop him from outstanding the majority.

His performance in the goal posts makes him a limelight.

This sweeper-goalie, joined Football at Masese play ground at a tender age of only 7 years.

He passed through a route of different academies that made him what everyone likes to see him doing. He came through Andy Mwesigwa Soccer Academy,Sparta 09 and KJT.
He is most remembered for the honour of being best Goal keeper in the 2019 FUFA Junior League. This gave him an open chance of even being linked by a Bulgarian side rival Akademik.

The shot-stopper made 23 appearances in the goal,he conceded only 7 goals and made 17 clean sheets plus 2 assists. For real he deserves it for Mulongo Sports!

3. Kyebatala Umar.
The Vipers' youngstar alias the Champion boy selected the third one.

In 2019/20 season the fantastic star won the League title with the venoms.
The teenager was tremendous in the Copa Coca Cola Schools Championship. He was prominent in St Mary's Kitende squad that hit up to the East African Schools Championship.

On the score sheet that won NPP trophy in Jinja against the Jinja-based giants Jinja SSS in the final that ended 3-1 in favour of St Mary's Kitende.

His goal and the 65th, minute assist against Jinja SSS at a teargassed Kakindu left a scar on the hearts of the fans.

Still he was crowned a top scorer in the East African Schools Championship with seven goals.

The Masese boy undoubtedly ranks third. He had passed through Kibuli,St Mary's Kitende and then finalised the plot of transfer at Vipers where he is now.

2. Daniel Shabena.
The midfielder settles in the second position. His senior career over weighs others.

In the 2019/20 season, the midfield master made 3 assists and 1 goal which he scored against Mbarara City at home.

Being involved in clubs like KJT,JMC HIPPOS,Bul Fc and currently at Express Fc,grants him the position seat.

Therefore, his maturity and experience in Football industry and the stylish display at the pitch . Are the major reasons for his stay in number two position.

1. Aggrey Madoi.
The robust left back tops the first position.
He was part of the 2018 Uganda Cranes CHAN squad in Morocco.

Madoi had played for clubs like JMC HIPPOS, Vipers, Police FC, Wakiso giants and recently he joined Bul Fc.

His endless experience in the Uganda Premier League and the national team call makes him number one. His participation in The CAF Confederation Cup with Vipers, plus his maturity at the international level awards him the golden number one of the Masese five-stars.

Finally, Mulongo Sports takes the very opportunity to appreciate other talents at different levels. Though this was Masese stars rankings only not Eastern or Uganda at large.

For more rankings we shall be in touch to let you know more about our Ugandan stars.
