WECA Farmers Association (Women, Elderly, and Children Action) Farmers Association is a community-based organization (CBO) which has since 2008 worked with women farmer groups and other self help groups in Busia District, Uganda. The organization is a member of the District umbrella farmers organization called Busia District Farmers Association. WECA Farmers Association has worked with 20 other l
ocal farmer organizations as a producer organization under the USAID LEAD project for enhancing trade competitiveness and export marketing. The organization has trained farmers in farming as a business, income generating activities, sustainable fish farming, savings, and credit and has trained local farmers in quality management of staple foods in collaboration with the Busia Produce Dealers Association with support from aBi Trust. We have also hosted the FAO Farmer Field School cassava multiplication garden for farmers in Busia District.
