A very heavy antlered sika stag we hunted right on dark and in the rain. These Sika can be challenging but the rewards can be amazing 😄

After seeing a glimpse of this stag the day before we went back into that area and chased some roars. Looked at a few others but couldn’t get eyes on this guy and it was getting dark. Working him with a few calls I managed to tease him out just before dark. One massively built stag was the result.

This video screenshot captures the best shot of his antlers as he was getting up.
Spotted this guy's white tips sticking out of the grass, bedded on the edge of the forest.
The wind wouldn't allow us any other approach.
When he stood up fully, his chest was right behind the tree. He gave us a full 2 seconds before disappearing 🙁
