Since Buhurt International has still not made a clear statement on this issue, we want to remind everyone that russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine is ongoing.
This is not only about politics. It is about ethics, responsibility, and the future of our sport.
Russian buhurt activity is directly linked to:
Participation despite international bans and sanctions. After 2022, most international sports federations banned russian teams, but russian fighters continued to participate unofficially.
Use of military symbols and propaganda. Some russian fighters and people connected to the sport displayed the Z-symbol and posted open support for the invasion on social media.
State and paramilitary support. Organizations such as the Vyborg festival are financed by the Presidential Fund of Cultural Initiatives, a group openly financing the so-called "Special Military Operation."
Wagner and mercenary relations. For example, Artem Vasiliev (promoter of HMB) appeared at the Wagner Center, connecting buhurt with militarized formations.
Despite this, some international fighters and teams still traveled to Vyborg, russia, to participate in events organized by “HMB russia” with open links to state propaganda and war support.

In this post, we merely wish event organizers to be made aware and to make responsible decisions of their own - both regarding russian participation in Buhurt International events and regarding individuals who choose to travel to russia to take part in HMB russia events - even before Buhurt International announces clear guidelines and policies.
By choosing to travel to russia and take part in events there, these individuals are not only ignoring the ongoing war, but are also indirectly showing support for it by visiting and cooperating with a terrorist state.
We have already requested BI ban, or at the very least believe that clear actions should be taken regarding these individuals. If any national organizations wish to join this initiative, we will gladly share the complete list of people who have been involved.
Being quiet about this only serves to normalize collaboration with war propaganda. Our sport can do better.
Оскільки Buhurt International досі не зробив чіткої заяви з цього питання, ми хочемо нагадати всім, що повномасштабне вторгнення росії в Україну триває.
Йдеться не лише про політику. Це питання етики, відповідальності та майбутнього нашого спорту.
Діяльність російського бугурту безпосередньо пов’язана з:
Участю попри міжнародні заборони та санкції. Після 2022 року більшість міжнародних спортивних федерацій заборонили російські команди, але російські бійці продовжували брати участь неофіційно.
Використанням військової символіки та пропаганди. Деякі російські бійці та люди, пов’язані зі спортом, демонстрували символ «Z» та відкрито підтримували вторгнення у соцмережах.
Державною та парамілітарною підтримкою. Такі заходи, як фестиваль у Виборзі, фінансуються Президентським фондом культурних ініціатив - структурою, що відкрито фінансує так звану «спеціальну військову операцію».
Зв’язками з вагнерівцями та найманцями. Наприклад, Артем Васильєв (промоутер HMB) з’явився у Центрі «Вагнер», пов’язуючи бугурт із мілітаризованими формуваннями.
Попри це, деякі міжнародні бійці та команди все ж поїхали до Виборга, росія, щоб взяти участь у заходах, організованих «HMB russia», які мають відкриті зв’язки з державною пропагандою та підтримкою війни.

У цьому дописі ми лише хочемо, щоб організатори заходів були поінформовані та приймали відповідальні рішення - як щодо російської участі в турнірах Buhurt International, так і щодо осіб, які вирішили поїхати до росії, щоб брати участь у заходах HMB russia, - ще до того, як Buhurt International оголосить чіткі правила та політики.
Обираючи поїздку до росії та участь у заходах там, ці люди не лише ігнорують триваючу війну, але й опосередковано демонструють підтримку, відвідуючи та співпрацюючи з державою-терористом.
Ми вже подали запит на бан у BI або, як мінімум, вважаємо, що мають бути вжиті чіткі заходи щодо цих осіб. Якщо якісь національні організації хочуть долучитися до цієї ініціативи, ми з радістю поділимося повним списком людей, яких було помічено у цій діяльності.
Мовчання з цього питання лише нормалізує співпрацю з воєнною пропагандою. Наш спорт заслуговує на більше.
