Today, 8 January, an online working meeting was held with the coordinator and partners of the DP5YOU project – Digital Platform of Knowledge and Skills Development for Youth Working with Child Migrants and Refugees at European Level, co-funded by the European Union 🇪🇺

The project coordinator is NGO “YOUTH. SCIENCE. SPORT. HEALTHY MOVEMENT OF UKRAINE”.

🤝 The meeting brought together all consortium partners:
• 🇵🇹 ASSOCIACAO CHECK-IN (Portugal);
• 🇲🇩 INSTITUTUL DE INSTRUIRE IN DEZVOLTARE MILLENIUM (Moldova);
• 🇲🇩 National Agency for Programs Development and Youth Work (Moldova);
• 🇺🇦 Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine.

📌 Following the agenda, partners reviewed the current status of project implementation and presented the results of the first year, including key outputs, completed tasks, implemented activities, and the next steps.

🔎 Key points discussed:
✅ a flipbook was presented as the first year report of DP5YOU, summarising the results and partners’ contributions; the process for providing feedback and suggestions on the document were also agreed;
✅ relevant deliverables were presented and their current status confirmed;
✅ reporting and communication materials for the next phase were discussed;
✅ overall approaches to upcoming partner-country activities and organisational matters were addressed;
✅ progress on the project programme was discussed, including the allocation of thematic responsibilities among partners;
✅ working aspects were covered (communication, voting procedures, and the research component);
✅ the need for budget adjustments related to the organisation of learning activities and the procurement of equipment for public institutions was outlined.

🤝 Conclusion: the meeting was constructive and highly collaborative, allowing partners to align on shared priorities and the way forward. The DP5YOU team continues to work on delivering high-quality activities and strengthening support for youth working with child migrants and refugee children. Young people from educational institutions took part in a leadership seminar as part of the DP5YOU project

On November 18, 2025, a seminar on leadership skills development was held as part of the General Assembly of Student Representatives in Vocational Education (PTE). The event brought together selected representatives of student councils from the Republic of Moldova, giving them the opportunity to strengthen their knowledge, skills, and abilities as leaders, promoters of engagement and change, communication, and motivation of youth groups.

The event was held as part of the European Union co-funded project “Digital Platform of Knowledge and Skills Development for Youth Working with Child Migrants and Refugees at European Level” (DP5YOU). The seminar was conducted within the framework of best practices by the National Agency for Programs Development and Youth Work (Republic of Moldova).

The seminar focused on how young leaders can inspire, motivate, teach, and guide other students, how they can contribute to learning processes among their peers and colleagues, and how they can directly contribute to positive change in the institutions and communities of which they are a part. Participants discussed the role of a leader, the responsibilities of a leader, tools for mobilizing youth, the importance of civic participation, and setting an example in promoting development-oriented initiatives.

The DP5YOU platform was actively used during the seminar. platform, an innovative digital tool developed as part of an international project (Ukraine-Moldova-Portugal) that provides young people with educational resources, interactive learning modules, guides, and case studies, supporting the exchange of best practices and the creation of a community of practitioners among young people and those who work with them. The platform's materials were integrated into the seminar to demonstrate how they can be actively used in leadership activities, participation in decision-making, constructive debates, mentoring, and community organization, providing access to relevant, structured, and easy-to-use content. The DP5YOU platform promotes continuous professional development, encourages cooperation between young people, between youth workers, between organizations, and promotes European values, participation in decision-making, social integration, and digital sustainability.

On 8 November, within the framework of DP5YOU – Digital Platform of Knowledge and Skills Development for Youth Working with Child Migrants and Refugees at European Level, co-funded by the European Union 🇪🇺, a special training session was held to empower vulnerable youth through education, digital skills and environmental awareness.

The event took place in the inspiring setting of Khotyn Fortress and along the picturesque Dniester River, creating a meaningful space for discussions on environmental responsibility and sustainable development 🌿

Project Coordinator Yaroslav Galan emphasized the importance of education, digital technologies and integrating environmental components into youth work.

Representatives of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine highlighted the challenges faced by today’s youth and the crucial role of digital competences 📲

Partners from the Republic of Moldova shared strategies for strengthening environmental culture in programmes supporting child migrants and refugees.

Participants explored practical tools and innovative approaches aimed at fostering sustainable thinking and responsible citizenship among young people.

At the end of the event, partners received NFC keychains providing direct access to the DP5YOU digital platform – a symbol of the project’s innovation and its commitment to digital transformation.

Training for DP5YOU Target Groups: Empowering Vulnerable Groups through Education, Youth Initiatives and Environmental Sustainability

On 8 November, as part of the DP5YOU project, a special training session was held for target groups, aimed at empowering vulnerable young people through educational programmes, youth initiatives, the development of digital skills and the promotion of environmental sustainability. The training was conducted within the framework of the European Union, co-funded project “Digital Platform of Knowledge and Skills Development for Youth Working with Child Migrants and Refugees at European Level” (DP5YOU).

The event took place in a unique setting – on the grounds of the State Historical and Architectural Reserve “Khotyn Fortress” and along the picturesque banks of the Dniester River. This historical and natural location created a powerful context for discussing environmental awareness and responsible attitudes toward nature.

The project coordinator, Yaroslav Galan, PhD in Physical Education and Sports, Associate Professor and Head of the NGO “YOUTH. SCIENCE. SPORTS. HEALTHY MOVEMENT OF UKRAINE”, opened the training and emphasised the importance of fostering environmental culture among children and young people. He highlighted that educational programmes, digital technologies and the integration of environmental components into youth work are effective tools for developing a modern, conscious and responsible young generation.

Representatives of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine addressed the participants. Dmytro Ivanov welcomed everyone and stressed the current challenges faced by young people, the importance of digital skills and the development of youth initiatives that help respond to modern threats.

Partners from the Republic of Moldova – Vadim Smințina, coordinator at the National Agency for Programs Development and Youth Work in Moldova, and representatives of INSTITUTUL DE INSTRUIRE ÎN DEZVOLTARE MILLENIUM – underlined the crucial role of environmental culture when working with child migrants and refugees. They shared strategies already being implemented or soon to be integrated into the work of youth centres across Moldova.

Participants had the opportunity to discuss practical tools for working with youth, approaches to sustainable development and models for fostering environmental awareness in diverse youth communities.

At the end of the event, Yaroslav Galan presented all partners with special NFC keychains containing a direct link to the DP5YOU digital platform – a symbolic gesture highlighting the project's innovative nature and commitment to advancing digital solutions in youth work.

🌱 Now more than ever, it is essential to foster environmental culture among young people, as it will determine society’s ability to act responsibly, preserve natural heritage and build a sustainable European future.

On 7 November, Chernivtsi hosted the official presentation of the DP5YOU Digital Platform (Digital Platform of Knowledge and Skills Development for Youth Working with Child Migrants and Refugees at European Level), co-funded by the European Union.
The event took place at the Chernivtsi City Council with the participation of local authorities, partner organisations and active youth.

The presentation was held in a hybrid format and brought together over 70 participants from Ukraine, Moldova and Portugal.
Welcoming remarks were delivered by the leadership of the Department of Social Policy of the Chernivtsi City Council, who emphasised the importance of youth work development and international cooperation.

The DP5YOU platform was presented by Yaroslav Galan, Head of the NGO “YOUTH. SCIENCE. SPORTS. HEALTHY MOVEMENT OF UKRAINE”, who introduced the concept, functionality and educational opportunities of the project.
The event was joined by representatives of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine, youth centres, as well as partners from the Republic of Moldova and Portugal.

Participants learned about current challenges in working with child migrants and refugees and discussed tools to support young people at local and international levels.
Project partners presented the developed materials, digital resources and strategies for youth work across the European space.

The event became a platform for experience sharing, open dialogue and planning future joint initiatives within the DP5YOU project.
After the presentation, participants received certificates and symbolic gifts featuring the project’s visual identity.

The DP5YOU platform opens new opportunities for enhancing digital skills among youth and supporting those who work with child migrants and refugees in Ukraine and across the EU.

On November 7, Chernivtsi hosted the official presentation of the DP5YOU (Digital Platform of Knowledge and Skills Development for Youth Working with Child Migrants and Refugees at European Level) digital platform, created as part of a project co-funded by the European Union.

The event was held at the Chernivtsi City Council and became an important event for representatives of youth organizations, active youth, and partners from different countries who work with child migrants, refugees, and develop youth work in Ukraine and the European Union.

Natalia Frunze, Director of the Social Policy Department of the Chernivtsi City Council, addressed the participants with a welcoming speech, emphasizing the importance of partnership, active youth, and the implementation of joint initiatives for community development.

Igor Basko, Head of the Youth Policy Division of the Family and Youth Affairs Department of the Social Policy Department, also spoke, noting the effective cooperation with civil society organizations in implementing youth projects for the residents of Chernivtsi.

Kateryna Zhdanova, project manager and coordinator of opportunities in the fields of youth and sports at the National Erasmus+ Office in Ukraine, addressed the participants, emphasizing the important steps in implementing the project in the current conditions and the support of digital tools for the development of youth work.

The presentation of the platform was started by Yaroslav Galan, PhD in Physical Education and Sports, Associate Professor, Head of the public organization "YOUTH. SCIENCE. SPORTS. HEALTHY MOVEMENT OF UKRAINE," who presented the concept and functionality of the platform, training materials, video resources, and opportunities for youth workers to interact. He emphasized that is a modern response to today's challenges and an effective tool for developing the digital skills of young people.
On behalf of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine, Dmytro Ivanov welcomed the participants and highlighted the steps taken to support active youth and the importance of the project for the development of youth policy. Maria Basaraba delivered a report on behalf of the Ministry team, presenting the activities and opportunities offered by youth centers.

A representative of the “YaMariupol” Support Center for Displaced Persons in Chernivtsi spoke about the current challenges and needs of displaced children.

An important report was presented by Vadim Smintina, coordinator of the National Agency for the Development of Youth Programs and Activities of the Republic of Moldova, who presented the “Strategy of Working with the Youth and Youth Workers in the Republic of Moldova”. Representatives of the INSTITUTUL DE INSTRUIRE ÎN DEZVOLTARE MILLENIUM (Moldova) also took an active part in the discussion.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the main partner organizations of the project:

Over 70 participants took part in the presentation, including representatives of public organizations, youth centers, educational institutions, as well as active young people and volunteers involved in the implementation of initiatives within the DP5YOU project.

The event was not only a presentation but also an interactive platform for exchanging experiences, communicating, and awarding certificates to participants. Young people received symbolic gifts with the project's logo and the opportunity to join in the further implementation of initiatives within the framework of DP5YOU.

The DP5YOU platform is a step forward in the digitalization of youth work, strengthening partnerships, and developing opportunities for young people in Ukraine and the European Union.

On October 18, 2025, in Chisinau, Republic of Moldova, a session on the achievements and current activities of the Project "Digital platform for the development of knowledge and skills for young people working with migrant and refugee children at the European level" (DP5YOU), was held during the National Forum of Youth Workers from Moldova.

The goal of the DP5YOU project is to develop a digital platform for training youth workers who will work with migrant children and refugees at the European level.

The event in the Republic of Moldova was attended by over 60 youth workers from Youth Centers, Youth-Friendly Health Centers, Youth Organizations, Informal Youth Participation Structures, Freelancers from the sector, Experts etc. In this context, the information session focused on the presentation of 3 support components of the DP5YOU Project for youth workers, namely: Education (Learning) Opportunities for Youth Workers; Motivational Materials for Youth Leaders and Youth Workers; and Best practices in youth work carried out in the project member countries (Republic of Moldova, Portugal, Ukraine). Also, during this event, the youth workers from Moldova had the opportunity to get acquainted with the digital platform https://dp5you.com/, which envisages opportunities and offers space for learning and professional development of the youth workers community. The presentation session of the DP5YOU Project aimed to enhance the professional skills of youth workers from Moldova, engaging with young Ukrainian migrants and refugees.

It should be noted that the information session took place within the National Youth Workers Forum of Moldova under the topic “Accelerating the training and professional development of youth workers in the Republic of Moldova”, held on October 17-18, 2025, in Chisinau, Republic of Moldova.

It is important to point out that the Forum is an annual event organized by the “MilleniuM” Training and Development Institute and represents a joint space for discussing the latest developments in youth work practices and youth policy in the context of the Republic of Moldova's European integration process, as well as trends and prospects for the development and strengthening of the youth worker community in the Republic of Moldova.

Also present at the meeting was Dmytro Ivanov, a representative of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine and a partner of the project, who welcomed all participants and emphasized the importance of joint efforts in implementing the initiative aimed at youth development and the promotion of European values.

The informative session was conducted by the representative of NGO "YOUTH. SCIENCE. SPORT. HEALTHY MOVEMENT OF UKRAINE", lead partner of the European Union's ERASMUS-YOUTH-2024-CB project: "Digital platform for the development of knowledge and skills for young people working with migrant and refugee children at the European level / DP5YOU."
