Liyang was established in 1968 by our formal President Sam Siu, and Liyang is also the few pioneers left of Taiwanese bicycle industry until now. In 1968, our formal President Sam Siu started to do the bicycle trading for US market. It was called Liyang Trading, Ltd., and we had product majority in bicycle accessories. Siu had a chance went to New York Bicycle Export Show in United States, and he discovered the road bike could be done in Taiwan. In his idea, he was thinking to manufacture in Taiwan and export to all over the world. Therefore, he bought the sample and brought to his home town. It was so difficult to start with, because there was no body making similar components at that time. However, Mr. Siu decided to invited many venders to making new modes and start to build the road bike in Taiwan by ourselves. In 1972, Liyang trading became Liyang Industrial, Ltd., and factory was established in Taipei. At that time, there was only one assembly line, and 700 bikes can be made in one day. At this time, Liyang has started its OEM bicycle mission for worldwide. In 1979, Liyang had moved the factory from downtown Taipei to suburban area and production capacity also increase from 20,000 units to 50,000 units per month. In 1989, due to labor cost had increase and capacity limited. Liyang had established Liyang Machinery in Shen Zhen, China. This new facility was able to increase the production to 100,000 units a month. In 2001, Founder Sam Siu passed away. Two brothers, Andy Hsu and Jemic Hsu took over the management team, and Andy Hsu was charged in President, Jemic Hsu was charged in Vice President. In 2003, Liyang Vietnam was established, and this new facility was in Ho Chin Ming City is able to increase the production to 40,000 units a month. In 2005, Liyang Group had re-organized its management team to make even stronger than before. Jemic Hsu took over the operation and continue with his hard work to keep Liyang experience in the cycle world. He decided to reorganize and change the company name to “Liyang Global Ltd.”, which registered as a Taiwanese company. He put the word “Leading the way, bring the experience” to encourage himself be successful and keep Liyang name strong in the bicycle industry. At this moment, Liyang Global Ltd. has very strong production facilities in south Asia, Taiwan, and China. This is where we continue produce good quality bicycles even until now.
