民國九十八年學校改名的關係，足球隊正式改名為國立體育大學大學足球隊，繼續參加大專盃的比賽還有一些全國性的比賽

國立體育大學，簡稱國體、國體大。前身為1987年創立的「國立體育學院」，位於桃園市龜山區，是臺灣一所專門培訓國內運動競技、運動科學與運動產業相關人才的大學，與臺灣師大、彰化師大、臺灣體大三校為臺灣四大體育國手培訓中心。 原於2008年2月1日與「國立臺灣體育學院」合併成「國立臺灣體育大學」，但合併前四年各自運作。
