每年的 3 月 17 日，是泰國的 Muay Thai Day（泰拳日）。
這一天紀念的，是泰拳歷史中最具象徵性的拳師 ——
นายขนมต้ม（Nai Khanom Tom）。
1767 年，阿瑜陀耶王朝被緬甸攻陷，許多暹羅人被俘虜帶往緬甸。
在一次王室慶典上，緬甸國王安排暹羅俘虜與緬甸拳手比武。
當時，一個暹羅子民自告奮勇站了出來。
在比賽開始前，他先跳起 Wai Kru Ram Muay，
向老師、祖先與武藝的傳承致敬。
傳說中，
นายขนมต้ม（Nai Khanom Tom）連續擊敗九名緬甸拳手。
他的技術與精神震撼全場，
關於他的事蹟有許多不同的版本，
其中一個版本是克農東最終贏得自由，也讓暹羅拳術受到尊敬，
也有一個版本是在他以近乎神速的方式打敗多名緬甸拳手後，
緬甸國王欣賞他的技術與精神，
便給克農東一個願望，
而克農東只則向國王請求釋放他與暹羅子民回到自己的土地，
於是國王便釋放所有的暹羅俘虜。
這段故事讓 นายขนมต้ม（Nai Khanom Tom） 成為
泰拳文化中的象徵人物，同時也成為泰國民族英雄。
因此泰國將 3 月 17 日 定為 Muay Thai Day，
紀念泰拳的歷史、精神與祖師。
對練泰拳的人來說，
這不只是歷史。
而是所有習拳的人仍在傳承的文化。

Every year on March 17, Thailand celebrates Muay Thai Day.
The day honors the legendary fighter
นายขนมต้ม (Nai Khanom Tom) — a figure deeply respected in Muay Thai history.
The story dates back to 1767, after the fall of the Ayutthaya Kingdom when many Siamese people were taken captive to Burma.
During a royal festival, the Burmese king organized a series of fights between Siamese prisoners and Burmese fighters to test whose martial art was superior.
One fighter stepped forward.
Before the fight began, he performed the Wai Kru Ram Muay, the traditional ritual that Muay Thai practitioners use to pay respect to their teachers, ancestors, and the art itself.
The Burmese spectators were puzzled by the ritual, not understanding its meaning.
Then the fight began.
Legend says Nai Khanom Tom defeated nine Burmese fighters in succession, astonishing the entire court.
Impressed by his skill and courage, the Burmese king eventually granted him his freedom.
Because of this legendary event, March 17 is now celebrated as Muay Thai Day, honoring the heritage, spirit, and cultural legacy of the art.
For those who practice Muay Thai, this story represents more than a victory.
It represents the moment when Muay Thai earned the respect of its enemies.
