한국에서 정자태극권을 시작하고 정만청 조사님의 이름을 처음 들었을 때, 그리고 대만에 기념관이 있다는 것을 알게 되었을 때 언젠가는 꼭 한 번 가보고 싶다는 생각을 했었다.

Master Fred Hao demonstrating 'Leading into Emptiness in Tainan.
When the opponent strikes, do not retreat or clash. Instead, use your external limbs to softly "catch" and "accept" their force—this is the art of connection. Once connected, your body acts as a fluid axis, guiding their incoming energy along its own path without providing a single point of resistance.
This is called "Leading In." When the opponent expects a solid target but finds only a void, as if falling into a bottomless pit, their balance is instantly shattered—this is "Falling into Emptiness." To achieve this, your entire being must be thoroughly relaxed (鬆淨) and driven by the spine, allowing you to dissolve any attack into nothingness.

In Designated Push Hands drills, your forward lean should not exceed 45 degrees. You must be sincere and precise with the four core techniques: Ward-off (掤), Roll-back (捋), Press (擠), and Push (按). Without true intent, these movements become hollow and fake. If your Ward-off crashes into the opponent's body, or your Roll-back collapses into your own, these are misconceptions of the art. Both Press and Push require stored energy (勁)—at no point should you lose your Central Equilibrium (中定)

Practicing the 'External Receiving and Connecting Method' together with South Korean disciple, Jin-xu.
You must relax; you must relax thoroughly. The entire body must loosen and open up. The opposite of this is simply 'not relaxed.' To be 'not relaxed' is to maintain a posture that invites being struck. This word—'Relaxation' (鬆)—is the most difficult quality to achieve. Yet, if you can truly reach a state of pure, thorough relaxation, all other aspects of the art become secondary and will follow naturally.

2026년 3월, 일생일대 가장 큰 용기를 냈던 날
​
2026년 3월.
내 인생에서 손꼽을 만큼 큰 용기를 냈던 날이다.
바로, 선생님을 찾아 혼자 해외로 나갔던 날이다.
예전의 나였다면 상상도 못 했을 일이다.
도대체 어디서 이런 용기가 났는지,
지금 다시 생각해도 신기하기만 하다.

샹 사부님의 격려사 (祥師回饋)
진욱이가 쓴 이 **‘대만 수행기’**를 보니, 스승으로서 마음이 무척 뿌듯하고 감동적이구나.
태극권 수행이란 결코 단순한 신체적 동작에만 국한되는 것이 아니라, 용기와 의지를 단련하는 과정이란다.
네가 나라 밖으로 발을 내딛던 그 순간 느꼈을 두려움과 불안함은, 사실 네가 **‘꼭 가야겠다’**고 결심한 그 순간부터 이미 너의 공력(功夫)이 정진하고 있었다는 증거란다.

Master Fred Hao and 2025 World Cup Push Hands Champion Li Wei shared the practical applications of the 'External Receiving and Connecting Method' in Kaohsiung. Their demonstration embodied the core principle: 'Sinking to one side allows for following, while double-weightedness leads to stagnation.' If there is even a hint of stiffness in the body, one will undoubtedly be toppled by a single nudge. The key is to sink 100% of your total power into the center of a single sole. The rest of the body must be completely relaxed and as light as a feather—only then can you remain unshakeable.

태극권의 음양 조화와 자연스러운 공방의 원리에 대한 설명입니다.
太極拳陰陽調和與自然攻防原理的說明。

공격하는 자는 양(陽)이고, 방어하는 자는 음(陰)입니다.
攻擊者為陽，防禦者為陰。

공격은 억지로 힘을 써서는 안 되며, 방어는 긴장해서는 안 됩니다.
進攻不可用強，防禦不可緊張。

"방어는 견고해야 하고 공격은 상대의 허점을 취해야 한다(수실공취, 守實攻取)"는 이치는,
「守實攻取」的道理，

두 가지 모두 대자연의 순리로부터 비롯되어야 합니다.
兩者皆應出自然的順理。
