This is a self-practice session I shared at the RopeFlowTaiwan Global Club 🌍, which also serves as a teaching method. I’ve transcribed it into images using Gemini.
Rhythm/beat is a great tool for guidance or self-challenge, and it also helps in the preparatory state for entering flow (music is more suitable for truly entering flow).
⛩️Slow Beats
1. More conscious control
2. More sensory feedback
3. Allows for progressive learning
4. Improves movement precision
⚡️Fast Beats
1. Less conscious control
2. The brain completes the intention, the body moves naturally
3. More reflexes
4. Requires advanced coordination and skills
☯️Both are important. You can look for:
1. Points where you lose control
2. Points where you fall off the beat
3. Points where your body gets stuck (compensation)
💡What we can do is:
1. Practice the slowest pattern
2. Practice Chill Pattern
3. Practice the fastest pattern
4. Practice maintaining a stable tempo at different speeds
5. Practice tempos that vary in speed
6. Practice with music
🌟Most Important❗️Use the 15+ techniques taught in RFTG rope flow instructor training for self-assessment and adjustment
