A pigeon’s flight performance is only as good as its recovery.

One of the most common setbacks after intense training is Sour Crop — a digestive issue where food ferments in the crop instead of emptying.
If your pigeon returns late with a swollen crop and a sour smell, here’s what you need to know:

📌 Why Does It Happen?

- 🌡️ Extreme Weather: Heat and humidity can stall a pigeon’s metabolism.
- 😫 Stress: Sudden spikes in training intensity.
- 🍄 Infection: Fungal issues like Candidiasis, often from drinking "wild water."
- 🚩 Overexertion: Pushing physical limits beyond current fitness levels.
