Nestled up in the mountains above the little Taiwanese Aboriginal beach town of D**g Ao, Big Rock Candy Mountain offers a rustic breakaway far away from big city pollution, noisy neighbors or any other worldly worries. The Space:

The Big Rock Candy Mountain is a truly unique rustic experience with comfortable beds and all the modern amenities. It is set in the mountains and we're exposed to all t

he outdoor elements that mountains naturally host. Think of it as an outdoor camping experience with a twist of luxury. Guest Access:

All guests have full access to the mountain spring water filled cocktail swimming pool, the outdoor roofed kitchen living space (fitted with all necessary kitchen stuff and goodies for all guests to use), and a shared bathroom with an awesome mountain spring water hot shower. Interaction with Guests:

We welcome guests to come chill with us in our mountain paradise. We often cook together and share culinary genius while sitting around a driftwood fire. The Neighborhood:

Our neighborhood is the mountain and the jungle. Ten minutes away by scooter or bicycle, D**g Ao town has a Family Mart (convenient store) and a few more shops where you can pick up all the basics. There's also a very small internet café and a few small restaurants. Fishing boats leave D**g Ao harbor twice a day (depending on the season and weather) and offer fresh fish in the early morning and late afternoon, perfect for the barbecue or sashimi. Getting Around:

The Big Rock Candy Mountain is just over an hours drive by car from Taipei, and a scenic 10-minute scooter/car ride from D**g Ao train station. Many guests hire scooters in Taipei or hop on the train and make The Big Rock Candy Mountain one of their pit stops as they travel down the breath-taking east coast of Yilan, Hualien and Taidong counties. Often a 1-night stay turns into a 3-night breakaway. There's also an old scooter for rent
(NT$500/day)

Other Things to Note:

There is a world class surf break 20 minutes away, super good snorkeling (especially in the summer), waterfalls, rock jumping, beach bumming, kayaking, mountain biking, Olympic quality hatchet throwing court, D**g Yue cold spring....you get the picture.
