Join The Map Room for an easy tracing meetup in Taian this weekend!

這個週末一起來泰安參加 The Map Room 的輕鬆溯溪聚會吧！ (中文在下面)

I will go river tracing at Shuiyun Waterfall and another good sized but less well known waterfall in the Wenshui River in Taian on Saturday, August 15th. I'll be camping in the area so I will be there for part of Sunday August 16th as well. Details in the blog posts below.

I can't help with transportation, but would love to see anyone who wants to come out.

Message me on my Line account (search for driftwould) if you're interested. We will meet at the big red suspension bridge at 9:00 a.m. Saturday (all details in the blog posts).

我計畫在 8 月 15 日（星期六）前往苗栗泰安溯溪，會去水雲瀑布，以及汶水溪上另一座規模不小、但比較少人知道的瀑布。我會在附近露營，所以 8 月 16 日（星期日）也會有一部分時間待在那一帶。詳細資訊請參考下方的部落格文章。

交通方面我沒辦法提供協助，不過非常歡迎任何有興趣的人一起來！希望到時候能見到大家！

My first visit to the Golden Grotto since the earthquake. I couldn't bring myself to visit until now. The river leading there is completely different from before, but the Grotto itself is fortunately mostly intact (as everybody knows by now). It was like seeing an old friend again!

New discovery 新發現

14 km of the Taigang Creek (Taigang River) is now closed for all activities following a new landslide.
泰崗溪（泰崗河）全長約 14 公里河段因新的土石崩塌而全面封閉，禁止任何活動。

For those who aren’t aware, the previous Taigang Hot Spring landslide lake formed in 2024 had already cleared and conditions had returned to normal.
給不清楚狀況的朋友：2024 年因泰崗溫泉土石流形成的堰塞湖早已消退，當地情況已恢復正常。

This is an entirely new landslide that occurred within the past few days.
這次是全新的崩塌事件，發生在最近幾天內。

The Hsinchu County Government has officially designated this 14-km stretch of Taigang Creek as a prohibited water recreation zone (October 2025).
新竹縣政府已於 2025 年 10 月正式公告，將此 14 公里河段列為禁止水域遊憩活動區域。

嘎拉賀溫泉現況：很糟糕！（以下有中文）
Galahe (Qrahu) Hot Springs Now: Basically Dead

I went yesterday to Galahe Hot Springs. I was excited to show my friends who had never been there, but sadly they will never be able to see it the way it was. If you haven't been there, for context, that ladder you see sticking out of the ground goes down more than twice as far under the ground as what you see sticking out above. I will post pictures of what it used to look like later.

我昨天去了嘎拉賀野溪溫泉。
我本來很興奮要帶那些從沒去過的朋友去看看，
但可惜的是，他們再也無法看到它原本的樣子了。

如果你沒去過，讓我補充一下背景：
你看到那根從地面伸出來的梯子，實際上在地底下的部分比露出來的部分還要深上兩倍。

我之後會再貼一些照片，讓大家看看它以前的樣子。
