In this year's Cultural Explosion 5: A Wondrous Odyssey it was important that we centre our presentation around the fight for freedom. Our cultural heritage is one rich in diversity and Belmont Freetown takes our responsibility in preserving and sharing it, very seriously.

Having a reimagining of the lead up to the Canboulay Riots of 1881, grounded our deeply rooted ancestral work in reality and remembrance of the efforts towards Emancipation.

It it a reminder that even now in 2025, we do not stand alone. We stand on the shoulders of people we never met but who contributed so much to Trinidad and Tobago.

We at the Belmont Freetown Cultural Arts & Folk Performing Company are inviting you to join us on Monday 3rd November for a dance and drumming workshop with our guest from 🇨🇦 Canada and one of our very own from 🇹🇹 Trinidad and Tobago , whether you love to dance, drum or sing this one is for you.
All levels are welcomed .

Cleavand Serries, professionally known as “Danza” or “Arlington,” is a Trinidadian dancer, choreographer, and educator celebrated for his innovative fusion of traditional folk, West African, and contemporary dance. He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a specialization in Dance, amongst other dance qualifications.🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹

Join international drummer, dancer and cultural educator Amosun Petit Rafan Adeifa of Kurufaba Kulture Inc. for an inspiring class that connects movement, music, and heritage.

The countdown is ON! Cultural Explosion 5: A Wondrous Odyssey is this Saturday 27th September at the Winifred Atwell Auditorium Queen’s Hall.

After months of rehearsals and preparation we are ready for our spectacular showcase of Trinidad and Tobago’s culture.

For the past 27 years, the Belmont Freetown Cultural Arts and Folk Performing Company has captivated audiences with a mystical exploration of the culture, music, art, and dance of Trinidad and Tobago. This September, Cultural Explosion makes its triumphant return with "Rhythms and Remembrance," marking its 5th installment. The event will take place at the Winifred Atwell Auditorium, Queen's Hall.
