🔥 SUNDAY SERMON
GOD’S FAVOUR
“FATHER, MOVE ON MY CONGREGATION’S BEHALF — MAY YOUR FAVOUR BE UPON THEM!”
Main Scripture:
“For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield.”
— Psalm 5:12
🎯 OBJECTIVE
To remind God’s people that His favour is not merely about receiving things—it is about having God’s hand upon your life, opening doors, protecting you, positioning you and giving you victory where human strength is insufficient.

🔥 OPENING: WHEN GOD FAVOURS YOU
There are some battles you cannot win by intelligence.
There are doors education cannot open.
There are opportunities money cannot buy.
There are situations connections cannot fix.
But when God’s favour rests upon you, God can make a way where there appears to be no way.
Favour means God gives you an advantage you could not manufacture for yourself.
You may not be the strongest.
You may not be the richest.
You may not have the greatest connections.
But you have God.
And when God decides to move on your behalf, one moment of divine favour can change years of struggle.

1️⃣ FAVOUR CAN CHANGE YOUR POSITION
Joseph — Genesis 39:2–4
Joseph went from being betrayed by his brothers to becoming a servant in Egypt.
Yet Scripture says:
“The LORD was with Joseph.”
Joseph's circumstances changed—but God's presence did not.
Eventually, the prisoner became a leader.
🔥 DECLARATION:
“My current position is not my final destination!”
Your circumstances don't determine your future.
God's favour does.

2️⃣ FAVOUR OPENS DOORS YOU CANNOT OPEN
Esther — Esther 2:17
Esther entered the palace as an orphaned Jewish woman and became queen.
Why?
Favour.
She didn't have the power of the king.
But she had access to the King.
And God used her position to save an entire people.
🔥 KEY POINT:
God doesn't always favour you for you alone.
Sometimes God places you in a room because your presence in that room is connected to somebody else's deliverance.
Your promotion may become somebody else's blessing.
Your testimony may become somebody else's encouragement.
Your breakthrough may become somebody else's evidence that God still answers prayer.

3️⃣ FAVOUR IS ALSO A SHIELD
Psalm 5:12
“With favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield.”
Notice the Bible doesn't merely say favour will bless you.
It says favour will surround you.
🔥 Favour can protect you from what you never saw coming.
There are battles you will never know you escaped.
There are conversations you will never hear.
There are traps God will cause you to walk past.
There are attacks that will never reach you.
Because God's favour was already surrounding you.

4️⃣ GOD'S FAVOUR DOES NOT MEAN NO TROUBLE
This is important.
Daniel had favour—but he still entered the lions' den.
David had favour—but Saul still pursued him.
Joseph had favour—but he still went to prison.
Jesus had the Father's favour—but He still went to Calvary.
🔥 FAVOUR DOESN'T ALWAYS KEEP YOU OUT OF THE BATTLE.
Sometimes favour keeps you alive IN the battle.
Sometimes God doesn't remove the lion.
He shuts the lion's mouth.
Sometimes God doesn't remove the Red Sea.
He opens it.
Sometimes God doesn't remove the storm.
He gives you authority to survive it.

5️⃣ FAVOUR CAN FOLLOW YOU
Psalm 23:6
“Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life.”
I declare over this congregation:
You will not spend the rest of your life chasing blessings.
There are blessings God is sending after you.
There are opportunities looking for you.
There are doors with your name on them.
There are people God is preparing to meet you.
There are prayers God is preparing to answer.
🔥 FAVOUR IS COMING AFTER YOU!
🙏 CONGREGATIONAL PRAYER
Father, in the name of Jesus,
Move on behalf of this congregation.
Let Your favour rest upon every family.
Open doors that no man can shut.
Make a way where there seems to be no way.
Give favour in the workplace.
Give favour in business.
Give favour in education.
Give favour in relationships.
Give favour in our finances.
Give favour in our health and wellbeing.
Protect Your people from hidden dangers and unseen attacks.
Where there has been rejection, release acceptance.
Where there has been delay, release divine timing.
Where there has been disappointment, release restoration.
Where there has been warfare, release victory.
Father, surround Your people with favour like a shield.
And let everything connected to this congregation experience the evidence of Your hand.

Dare to Dream that Palestine is set free

“Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”
— Matthew 25:40
That has enormous implications for the Church.
A child caught in war did not choose the government, the military, the ideology, the religion, or the conflict surrounding them.
They are a child.
Would Jesus want the Church to donate?
Yes.
Feed them. Give them water. Provide medicine. Protect them. Help displaced families. Comfort grieving parents. Rescue children where possible.
And crucially, Christian humanitarian compassion should not be conditional upon conversion.
Jesus told His followers to love even their enemies (Matthew 5:44). He told the story of the Good Samaritan precisely to demonstrate that compassion crosses religious and ethnic boundaries.
So if an Iranian, Palestinian, Israeli, Muslim, Christian, Jewish, Hindu, atheist—or anyone else—is suffering, the Christian response should be:
“How can we help?”
Not:
“Are they one of us?”
But would Jesus pray for their salvation?
Absolutely.

Pray for the children.
Feed the hungry.
Protect the innocent.
Stand with the persecuted.
Pray for the persecutors.
Pray for governments to stop killing civilians.
And pray that people everywhere—including Iran—will encounter Jesus Christ.
That isn't weakness.
**That is the Gospel.**
