Happy New Year and all the best for 2025 from the TTLCA!! 🥳
In recap, 2024 would be well remembered by the TTLCA. Of the most significance is the unfortunate loss of a core member of the team, Mr. Marlon Moore, whose passion and dedication in all aspects of his life extended to our family and his warmth and laughter will never be forgotten.
From a cricketing point of view, the team played over 20 games, including participation in 3 tournaments over the year.
While sticking to mainly its core players, the TTLCA was tied for 2nd place in the Fatima T20 Tournament with all round contributions. Noteworthy, was Keshav Bahadursingh's 6 wicket haul which was the most wickets taken by any bowler in a match for the tournament’s history. The team was also victorious in several thrilling last over or last wicket games and showed indomitable spirit and teamwork to rally every game with full attendance and support.
While not being able to repeat as finalist in the Bryan Davis Cricket Festival, the team had exceptional performances by several players and gave many of our members the prestigious opportunity to play at the Queen’s Park Oval at night. Notably, Craig Beepath scored the most runs for the TTLCA and the most runs by any lawyer participating in the 2024 tournament. We also saw the emergence of new talents, notably Richard Rojas, Kevon Persad and Rennie Manolal (Spike).
The team hosted an award ceremony in September which celebrated key contributors on and off the field, notably Craig with most runs and Keshav with most wickets for 2024.
The ceremony also recognized the invaluable contributions of the scorer, manager, as well as other key persons who assisted during the year, including the continued camaraderie with Glenora Sports Club and also Progressive.
Off the field, the main highlight was the trip to Guyana whereby several members of the team and friends/family were admitted to the Guyana Bar. The team also hosted its 2nd cooler cruise which was well attended by members and friends of the legal fraternity who all enjoyed the safe fun onboard.
2025 will be another exciting year with the possibility of a Lawyers’ World Cup. Steps will also be taken to arrange matches against our regional colleagues including tours. We also look forward to several local tournaments, whereby team members would continue to get opportunities to grow/develop.
We would like to thank all members, supporters and sponsors for assisting throughout the year as we are most grateful for your contributions to make 2024 a success.
As we open our innings into 2025, we look forward to your continued support and wish everyone good health, prosperity and success to come 🙏🏻 🏏
