💛 Sport as a space for inclusion 🤝

Kardzhali hosted the international camp 🏅, bringing together young people with intellectual disabilities from Bulgaria 🇧🇬 and Türkiye 🇹🇷 in a shared space of movement, connection, and new friendships. For some of them, this was their first time leaving their country – an experience that truly matters ✨

The initiative is the result of strong cooperation between organizations from both countries 🤝, with the support of local authorities in Kardzhali and Dzhebel 🏛️, the engagement of the educational, sport and civil sectors 🎓🏅🌍, as well as the support of Bulgarian diplomacy 🇧🇬. The project is co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union 🇪🇺

When different sectors come together, sport becomes a tool for real change 💪

💛 When sport brings people together, borders disappear 💪

The international SPORT Inclusion camp in Kardzhali brought together young people with intellectual disabilities from Bulgaria and Türkiye in a shared space of sport, friendship, and belonging. For some, this was their first step beyond their everyday reality - and it truly mattered.

Behind this stands a strong collaboration - partnerships between organizations from both countries, the support of local authorities in Kardzhali and Dzhebel, the engagement of the educational, sport and civil sectors, as well as the support of Bulgarian diplomacy, co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union.

Because when everyone works together, sport becomes more than an activity - it becomes an opportunity.

🌊 The day sport met emotion 🇧🇬🇹🇷🇪🇺

The second day of the camp continued at the new swimming complex in Djebel, where participants took part in adapted swimming activities and water games, filled with smiles, confidence, and shared achievements. 🏊‍♂️✨

The camp is implemented in partnership between the Bulgarian Sports Development Association and Kargenc Club, hosted by SC “Sunny Kids” - Kurdzali, with participants accommodated at “Makaza” complex. The initiative is carried out with the active collaboration of the municipalities of Kurdzali and Djebel, which stand behind the cause of inclusion through sport, as well as with the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Türkiye. The - Strengthening Potentials through Opportunities, Respect, and Team-spirit camp is co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union and continues to prove that sport is a powerful tool for inclusion and social change.

✨ The beginning of something bigger than 🇧🇬🇹🇷🇪🇺
The international camp in Kurdzali kicked off with 30 athletes with intellectual disabilities - 15 from Bulgaria and 15 from Turkey, proving that sport connects beyond borders, language, and differences. 🙌

The first day set a strong foundation through joint sport activities at renovated modern sports complex of SU “Vladimir Dimitrov - Maystora” Kardzhali. Football, flag football, bocce, floor hockey and adapted games helped participants build trust, take their first steps in teamwork, and create new friendships.

The event is implemented in partnership between the Bulgarian Sports Development Association and Kargenc Club, hosted by SC “Sunny Kids” - Kurdzali, with participants accommodated at “Makaza” complex. 🎥✨ Highlights from the Camp in Sakarya, Turkey!

From 25–28 August, 30 athletes with intellectual disabilities from Bulgaria and Turkey trained, learned and grew together through sports, teamwork and unforgettable shared moments. 🤝🏐🏊‍♂️

The camp, co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme, is part of the SPORT project led by BSDA Асоциация за развитие на българския спорт /АРБС/ and Kargenc Kulubu, promoting inclusion, equal opportunities and the power of adapted sport. 🌍💙

🌍 Two experiences, one powerful mission.
💙 The camp and the training brought together passion, knowledge, and inclusion - and left unforgettable marks on everyone involved.

🏕 At the (Strengthening Potentials through Opportunities, Respect, and Team-spirit) camp in Sakarya, Turkey, 30 athletes with intellectual disabilities from 🇧🇬 Bulgaria and 🇹🇷 Turkey shared 4 days of teamwork, challenges, and joy. Laughter, sports, new friendships - a truly emotional journey that proved the power of inclusion and community.

🎓 Meanwhile, the training equipped 24 Bulgarian sports experts and teachers with cutting-edge knowledge in adapted physical activities. From theory to hands-on practice, they explored new ways to make sports more inclusive - and returned inspired, connected, and empowered.

🤝 Together, these Erasmus+ funded initiatives are building bridges - between people, countries, and possibilities.
