We conquered the infamous D915, aka “Deathroad” in Turkey! 🚗💀 From breathtaking views to 38 sharp hairpin turns, this 106 km journey was one for the books. 🏞️ We nailed it 😏🌍

Got up at 4 AM, but the spectacular view of hot air balloons floating over Cappadocia made it all worth it! 🌅🎈 The sunrise, the colors, and the serene landscape—absolutely magical! ✨

Met this super friendly Turkish guy on top of a mountain! 🌄 He told us about his time in the Netherlands with an Erasmus program in Rotterdam, living in Dordrecht, teaching, and riding his dirt bike through the woods. You never know who you’ll meet wherever you are! We have met so many wonderful people since we’ve been in Turkey, whether they are Turkish or from another nationality. This is one of the best things about traveling—it’s amazing how people can surprise you! Thanks for the amazing pictures 📸

🌞🏖️ Our Time in Kusadasi 🌞🏖️

We didn’t really explore the city much. Instead, we mostly relaxed in the air conditioning due to the heat and the long journey from Venice – about 2200 km in 4 days! 🏍️💨

But one thing we did manage to do was enjoy some incredible food at 🍽️😍 The dishes were absolutely amazing and worth a try if you’re around Kusadasi. Trust us, you won’t regret it! 😋👌

These relaxation days are just what we needed because there’s so much more exploring to come. Just you wait! 🌍✨

Arrived at the harbor to check in. 🚢 Our boat is leaving 8 hours later than initially planned. Not really convenient for our schedule because the hotel we booked in Patras can no longer be canceled for free. But hey, that’s the risk of traveling, we thought. 🧳

When it’s our turn to check in, we’re asked if we received the email about the changes to our crossing. Yes, we both nod. We’re sailing at 9:00 PM instead of 1:00 PM. When the man then indicates that it should be an email stating we’ve been downgraded, we look at each other a bit surprised. Because no, we didn’t receive that email, and how can we be downgraded if we already had the cheapest cabin. Exactly, now we’re going to spend 36 hours on a boat without a cabin, so without a shower and without a bed. 😳

Time to dive into the email and the phone to see how we can solve this. They’re not getting off that easily as far as we’re concerned. 📧📱

Last friday, we explored Venice like true tourists. 🚤 No cars, motorcycles, or any vehicles on wheels here – everything is done on the water! Naturally, we indulged in some delicious pizza and enjoyed a complimentary Limoncello. 🍕🍋 It was a perfect day.
