Önceki gün çok değerli ve güzel dostum Sibel benimle çok samimi bir hikayesini paylaştı. Kendisine kanser teşhisi konduktan sonra rüzgar sörfüne nasıl başladığını, hayattaki dengesini nasıl kurduğunu ve rüzgar sörfü sporuyla nasıl dost olduğunu anlattı. Etkilendiğim için başkalarıyla paylaşmak ister mi diye sorduğumda kendisi memnuniyetle karşıladı. Duyduğum en güzel hikayelerden biriydi, benimle ve herkesle paylaşmayı kabul ettiği için Sibel’e sonsuz teşekkür borçluyum!
Rüzgar ve dalga gibi kuvvetli faktörlere karşı doğayla iç içe olduğum uzun yılların ardından bir durup düşününce, kendimi bu sporu yapmayı bıraktığımı hayal bile edemiyorum. Umarım bir gün herkes rüzgar sörfü tecrübesi edinir. Belki de bu hikaye başlangıç için sizlere bir motivasyon olur…

The other day my wise, strong and beautiful friend Sibel shared a very intimate story with me. The story of how she started windsurfing after she was diagnosed with cancer and how windsurfing helped her find her balance and became a friend to her through this hard time. I felled deeply touched by this story and asked her if she would be willing to share it with more people and she agreed. Thanks Sibel for sharing it with me and the world, it is the most beautiful windsurfing love story I have ever heard!
Being with nature and harnessing to some extent such powerful forces as wind and waves is truly a life changing experience, even after many years with the sport I can’t even imagine stopping.
I hope more people will get a chance to experience what it is like to windsurf and maybe this story has given some of you the motivation to start?
