Well sat on the plane reflecting on the past week or so out at the fabulous Northern Cyprus Darts comp and it's looking like I'm not going to get time to write all I want to say before we take off so I'll have to finish it tonight when I'm back home.
Let me start by saying that Paula and I are are just an agent for this competition, it's not ours and we don't own it, but because we are the only way you can book the event, we have a lot of input regarding events played, dates, payouts and venue etc.
We took bookings for nearly 300 people this year and I have to say that this year's event was the best we've done, yes we always have the issue with people losing and not marking ,but hey, it's a holiday comp so I just cut them some slack and get on with the job.
We played mixed pairs and Men's/Ladies pairs on the first day followed by the singles events on the two following days with finals day on the last day.
The standard was great this year and we were pleased with how many compliments we received from the players.
The Concorde Hotel istelf is just an amazing property, the sheer size and quality is something that you just would not expect from a Darts venue, everyone on FB must have seen at least one of our advertising posts so you'll know what it has to offer, however, it's just the quality that you don't expect and its for that reason why we get so many repeat bookings.
It's worth mentioning that you don't have to play or be a Darts player to book this Holiday with us, we have people that just book through us due to the discounted price that we negotiated, for example, try to book this hotel through the cheapest hotel booking app and you'll pay at least double (for the same thing) than you pay with us, and we have a flexible payment system where you pay as much or as little as you want each month.
The weather is a huge draw for most people and this year (with the exception of just a few hours cloud cover for the entire week) week had average aytime temperatures of around 26'c/27'c with about 8 hours sunshine per day, it really is a sun worshipers dream.
Id like to take this opportunity to thank everyone that booked with us for thier continued support, we really do appreciate each and every one of you.
Paula managed to stay on top of the bookings for Torremolinos too, as each comp compliments the other and when one is in the spotlight we get a boost in bookings for the other comp, this year was no different with 71 more people booking in the past 10 days.
The numbers for Torremolinos now stand at 557 with almost 6 months to go, this is by far the biggest year we have ever had at this point because I know of about 50 or so people that come every year and don't book till after Christmas and we've had close to 100 people that have enquired and said they will book but haven't yet? Don't leave it too late guys because when our allotment of rooms have gone, we are given rooms called "side sea view rooms" and these come at a slightly higher price, so come on guys, if your booking do it sooner rather than later.
I'd like to publicly thank the team that helped me this year, I honestly couldn't of done it without them, so a huge thankyou to Colin Stewart , Tracey McFarlane, Michelle Gordon, Tim Piper, with Kelly Haverson doing the raffle, you were all fantastic and I cannot tell you how gratefull and thankful I am that you agreed to help.
Final thanks to my Paula, she takes all the bookings throught the year, helps so many if you with your flights transfers etc, then helps me organise the events before we get started and still manages to play and get results,,,,,hey, she's "wonder woman" haha
So thats us home now totally shattered, not doing much over the next couple of days as we are away in Budapest Hungary on Thursday for another 10 days!!!!! So binge watch season 3 of the Diplomat and a few days rest.
