Never too late to honor a legend — David Fish. It’s impossible to fully capture the impact he’s had on so many lives both on and off the court, and it’s safe to say the Harvard Men's Tennis family would not be remotely close to what it is today without his leadership. Thank you Coach Fish for forever changing each of our lives by taking a chance on us, imparting lifelong teachings using your inexhaustible list of analogies, and most importantly instilling the highest ethical standards through an unwavering representation of your moral values each and every day — we owe you an unpayable debt of gratitude.

It’s been a while since my last update, but definitely the most exciting I’ve shared so far. Reaching my first singles final in a professional event this past week has been a dream come true. I understand why some believed I was crazy to pursue professional tennis instead of settling for a “normal” job (and believe me at times I do too...), but nothing compares to the emotional journey experienced on court and a week like this reinforces my belief in having chosen the right path. Yuta Shimizu (pictured right) had absolutely no mercy yesterday and showed me that there’s still a long road ahead to achieving the goals I’ve set out to reach. Thanks to all who have expressed their support thus far - onwards and upwards!

April 2019 Part 1:
There were no tournaments scheduled the first week of April in Cancun so I took advantage and went home. Fortunately, it’s a short & cheap 2-hour direct flight to Houston. This was the perfect opportunity to get some big lifts in early in the week while giving myself ample time to recover for my next match. One of the toughest challenges players face during tournament periods is making sure they keep up with their strength training - it’s a fine balance between staying fresh for matches while still maintaining off-season gains.
The second week, back in Cancun, I qualified, made it to the quarters, and lost in a three-set grind 6-1 3-6 6-7 (7) having had multiple match points to reach the semis. On the way to my best result yet, I got my revenge against Federico Zeballos ( #139 ITF) 6-2 6-3 and took out the #6 seed first round, Joao Lucas Reis Da Silva ( #168 ITF, #602 ATP), 6-2 3-6 7-5 after coming back from 4-1 down in the third.

March 2019 Part 2:
I traveled to Cancun, Mexico for my next set of tournaments where I would go 10-3 over a three-week period. When you think Cancun you mostly likely think of vacation and the beach, but the tournament site is actually 45mins away and situated in the middle of the forest. Needless to say, it’s a great place to compete. In my first tournament I made it through qualifying and on the slow, high-bouncing outdoor courts I was outmatched in main draw by a seasoned 30-year-old tour player, losing 2,2 to the #6 seed, Federico Zeballos ( #139 ITF). The following week, I would win three high-level pre-qualifying matches to earn a spot in the qualifying and fall 10-8 in the third set tiebreak to the eventual quarterfinalist. In my final tournament I won 5 matches, taking down last year’s #3 ranked D1 college-tennis player as well as a former #367 ATP-ranked player in the pre-qualifying, making it through both rounds of qualifying, and eventually losing to the #7 seed in main draw, Pavel Krainik ( #491 ATP), in a tight 3 set battle. Having played 13 matches in Cancun so far, it was time for a short break!

Investing in a .stringer was one of the best investments I’ve made since being on tour as I string multiple racquets each match and tournaments would otherwise charge me an average of $15+ per string job. I’m also very fortunate to have helping me out with amazing strings!

March 2019 Part 1:
My 6-tournament block started in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, where I competed for two weeks. I qualified the first week and then lost a tough main draw match to the 3 seed, Andres Artunedo Martinavarro ( #19 ITF, #420 ATP), 0-6 6-4 2-6. The next week I would play 3 pre-qualifying and 2 qualifying matches, losing 10-8 in the third set super-tiebreak to qualify. Due to the new tour rules this year, all futures qualifying matches are best of 3 sets with a 10 point tie-break for the third with both rounds disputed in one day!

After receiving a tennis lesson from the eventual finalist at Veigy, I was back in the gym training hard to cap off my 5-week off-season block. Excited to put all the work to the test in my upcoming tournaments!

January 2019: After spending time with family & friends during the holidays I came back to France for my off-season training. The vast majority of the past three weeks was spent building a strong base in the gym and on the track and I am now starting to transition back into tennis. First up, the M15 Veigy-Foncenex Futures (45mins away) where I made it through qualifying yesterday and play my MD match tomorrow.

Thank you to everyone that reached out and expressed their support in my project - means a lot!

Welcome to my official tennis page! I will regularly be posting updates on my progress as well as photos, videos, and other content you will hopefully find interesting. In the meantime, check out my first update below.

December 2018:
I graduated from college in May, having spent 4 incredible years playing on the Harvard Men's Tennis team. After recovering from injuries that plagued my last semester of college tennis, I officially embarked on my pro tour tennis journey in September. I'm currently based in the beautiful town of Annecy, France where I train with Naopi tennis coach Rodolphe Herve.

Recently, I came back from a three-week trip to South Africa where I competed in 16 matches and picked up my first few ATP points. After a bit of rest and a strong off-season training block, I will be back on the road in January ready to battle!

Thanks for joining me on this adventure and happy holidays to everyone!
