ก่อนที่นักวิ่งคนแรกจะออกจากเส้นสตาร์ท

มีคนในชุมชนตื่นขึ้นมาแล้ว

บางคนจุดเตา
บางคนต้มน้ำ
บางคนเตรียมอาหาร
บางคนขับรถขึ้นดอยตั้งแต่ฟ้ายังมืด

ก่อนวันแข่งจะมาถึง
หลายวัน…หรือหลายสัปดาห์ก่อนหน้านั้น

ก็มีคนช่วยกันดูแลเส้นทางแล้วเหมือนกัน

ช่วยกันเดินถางหญ้า
ตัดกิ่งไม้
เก็บขยะ
เตรียมเส้นทางให้พร้อมต้อนรับนักวิ่งจากทุกที่

เพื่อให้ทุกคนที่มาเยือนสนามนี้
วิ่งได้อย่างมั่นใจ
สนุกกับเส้นทาง
และเก็บความทรงจำดี ๆ กลับบ้านไป

วันแข่งขัน
เราได้เห็นพวกเขาอยู่ทั่วทั้งสนาม

ที่ Aid Station
ตามทางแยก
บนรถ Moto Rescue
ตามจุดเชียร์บนดอย
และในอีกหลายจุดตลอดเส้นทาง

ทุกคนต่างมีส่วนร่วม
ช่วยกันดูแลให้งานนี้เกิดขึ้นได้อีกครั้ง

Before sunrise,
before the first runner steps onto the start line,

the community here is already awake.

Some are lighting the fire.
Some are boiling water.
Some are preparing food.
Some are driving up the mountain while it’s still dark.

Long before race day arrives—
days, sometimes weeks before—

there are already people out on the trail.

Clearing the path,
cutting back branches,
picking up trash,
getting everything ready to welcome runners from everywhere.

So that everyone who comes to this course
can run with confidence,
enjoy the journey,
and leave with great memories.

On race day,
you’ll see them all around the course—

at the Aid Stations,
at trail junctions,
on Moto Rescue bikes,
or cheering from somewhere up on the mountain.

Everyone plays a part
in making this race happen.

Pong Yaeng Trail is a special weekend for many runners.

And for the local community here,
it’s something special too.

help care for,

คำเมืองวันละคำ…

“กิ๋นข้าวตอนไหน?”

ประโยคนี้ฟังดูธรรมดา ๆ ใช่ไหมครับ
แต่ระวังดี ๆ
เพราะถ้าพูดที่เชียงใหม่บ้านเฮา
มันอาจทำให้คุยกันคนละเรื่องได้ง่าย ๆ

คนหนึ่งถามเรื่อง “ที่ไหน”
อีกคนตอบเรื่อง “เวลา”

เพราะในคำเมือง
“ข้าวตอน” = ข้าวเที่ยง

ดังนั้น
“กิ๋นข้าวตอนไหน?”
อาจไม่ได้แปลว่า
“กินข้าวเวลาไหน?”

แต่อาจแปลว่า
“ไปกินข้าวเที่ยงที่ไหน?”

เพราะฉะนั้น…
ถ้ามาวิ่ง Pong Yaeng Trail
แล้วบังเอิญเจอ อ้ายกาน ทีม Moto Rescue ถามว่า

“อ้ายครับ กิ๋นข้าวตอนไหน?”

อย่าเพิ่งตอบว่า
“ประมาณสิบเอ็ดโมงครึ่งครับ”

เพราะเขาอาจหมายถึงว่า
“พี่จะกินข้าวเที่ยงที่ไหนครับ?”

จะได้แนะนำร้านลำ ๆ เด็ด ๆ บนโป่งแยงให้ถูก

ใครเคยเจอคำเมืองที่ฟังแล้วงงแบบนี้บ้าง
ลองมาเล่าให้ฟังหน่อยครับ

Northern Thai Word of the Day

“Gin khao torn nai?”

At first, this may sound like a simple question:
“When do you eat lunch?”

But in Northern Thai, or Kam Mueang, the word “khao torn” means lunch.

So the question can actually mean something closer to:

“Where are you having lunch?”

Same sentence.
Different meaning.
Very Chiang Mai.

So if you come to Pong Yaeng Trail and our Moto Rescue team asks:

“Gin khao torn nai?”

Don’t rush to answer,
“Around 11:30.”

They might just be asking where you’re going for lunch,
so they can recommend a good local spot in Pong Yaeng.

That’s part of the charm here.
Not only the trails, but also the language, the people, and the little local moments along the way.

a traditional Hmong motif
commonly found in textiles and clothing.

We didn’t take the pattern as it is.

and combined selected elements

ช่วงนี้สถานการณ์ควันและไฟป่าในเชียงใหม่
ยังคงหนักอยู่ในหลายพื้นที่

ก่อนหน้านี้ ทีมงาน ได้ลงพื้นที่
นำสิ่งของและความช่วยเหลือ
กระจายไปยังหมู่บ้านและหน่วยงานต่าง ๆ เรียบร้อยแล้ว

ในวันที่เรายังไม่ได้วิ่งบนเส้นทาง
ยังมีอีกหลายคนที่ “อยู่บนเส้นทางนั้น” ทุกวัน
เพื่อดูแลและปกป้องผืนป่าให้พวกเรา

จากนี้…
สิ่งที่สำคัญที่สุดคือกำลังใจ

ขอชวนเพื่อน ๆ ทุกคน
ร่วมส่งแรงใจให้เจ้าหน้าที่
และอาสาสมัครทุกคนที่กำลังทำงานอย่างหนัก

ให้พวกเขาปลอดภัย

The situation with smoke and wildfires in Chiang Mai
is still severe in many areas.

to deliver supplies and support
to local communities and various units.
