🎄 School holidays mean free schedules and more family time—making it the ideal season to start swim lessons. 🌊 Kids can build water confidence, practice consistently, and be safer for upcoming adventures at Phuket’s beaches and pools.
As Term 4 comes to an end, we’d also like to say a huge thank you to all our families for your continued support and trust throughout the year. We’re so proud of the progress our swimmers have made and look forward to an exciting holiday season in the water together.

Drowning Awareness – Drowning is Quick & Silent
When people imagine drowning, they often think of splashing, waving, or yelling for help.

👉 In reality, drowning happens quietly and in seconds.
⚠️ Key facts:
Most drownings are silent – no shouting or splashing.
It can happen in less than 30 seconds.
Children are at the highest risk because they may slip under unnoticed.
Even strong swimmers can struggle if tired, injured, or caught off guard.
Always stay alert near water – whether it’s a pool, beach, or even bathtubs.
Active supervision saves lives.

Stroke of the Week: Backstroke Basics!

Backstroke is the only competitive stroke where swimmers are on their back the entire time, making it a great skill for beginners and advanced swimmers alike. Here are the key basics:

✅ Body Position – Keep your body flat, hips up, and eyes looking at the ceiling/sky.
✅ Arm Movement – Alternate arms in a circular motion: one arm enters the water above your head while the other pulls down by your side.
✅ Kick – Use a flutter kick: small, steady kicks with straight legs and relaxed ankles.
✅ Breathing – Breathe naturally since your face is above water, but keep it relaxed to avoid sinking your hips.
✅ Head & Eyes – Keep your head still, chin slightly tucked, and eyes upward.
