"I have been doing many di
fferent sports since my childhood and doing sports made me feel relaxed, and increased my self-confidence. Football was one of the sports that I wanted to try when I was a child, but I hardly had female friends to play football with. This was probably because football was still considered as a men’s sport. After moving to work in Mae Sot, I started playing girls football with friends here. I then realized that all women have capacity to play this sport, and should have a chance to train and develop football skills. So, I decided to be a part of the Female Football Frontiers project which tries to help increase the opportunity for women to play football and to help improve their skills, also to increase their self-esteem. I hope that the project will promote that the sport belongs to everyone not just one gender or group, football is also for women." Daen
"I have had a passion for football since I was a child and started playing football with my friends when I was 8 years old. When I grew up, I spent lots of my free time playing football and I really wanted to play at the professional level but I couldn’t make it. I then moved on to football coaching and attended several qualifying courses:
• Thailand Introductory Course and AFC C Coaching Certificate organized by Thailand FA
• FA Playmaker and Introduction to Coaching Football online courses organized by England FA. In Mae Sot District I have coached kids from Migrant Learning Centres and female adult players. I realized that girls and women still lack opportunities and support for sports activities, especially in the migrant communities.
