The project aims at providing opportunities to disadvantaged youngster, and their families, to make a living in the field of sports. All these activities have the aim of offering ways to make revenues to the youngsters i
nvolved in the project. None of the revenues is kept by the foundation. However, the youngsters involved have to responsibility to cover all the costs of maintaining the stadium. The construction of the Chiangrai Hills Stadium was finished in November 2011. The total cost of the construction was about 45 million baht. However, since it's completion the stadium has seen regular additional works and investments to upgrade its facilities. The budget was privately provided by the board members of the foundation, mainly Count Gerald van der Straten Ponthoz, Chairman of the foundation, and Somrit Puntharat, treasurer of the foundation. The foundation itself did not provide any of the funds, but is considered as the caretaker of the project. The Chao Phya Abhai Raja Siammanukulkij foundation is a foundation that does not rely on external donations to bring its projects to success. The funds needed by the foundation are mostly provided by its founders and board members. The Chiangrai Hills Stadium was designed to blend itself nicely with the surrounding nature, using earth tones and replanting lots of threes around the fields. The stadium has grand stands with a capacity of 2000 people, with a total capacity of around 3500 people. While it is not the biggest stadium of the region, it is certainly the nicest. Besides the grand stands, the stadium also has numerous shops and food/drink stations, rooms for visiting teams, parkings, a large stage and the biggest LED giant screen of the province. Since it's opening in 2011, there have been many activities, such as football competitions, concerts, Rotary gatherings, company product launches, etc...

สนามฟุตบอลเชียงรายฮิลล์เป็นหนึ่งในโครงการของมูลนิธิเจ้าพระยาอภัยราชาสยามานุกูลกิจ
ทางมูลนิธิฯจัดตั้งโครงการนี้ขึ้นโดยมีวัตถุประสงค์ที่จะให้โอกาสทางด้านกีฬาแก่เด็กด้อยโอกาสและครอบครัวของพวกเขาเพื่อให้มีทักษะที่จะ ดำรงชีพอยู่ได้
โครงการสนามฟุตบอลเชียงรายฮิลล์ ไม่เพียง แต่ให้โอกาสให้เด็กเหล่านั้นได้เล่นฟุตบอล แต่เด็กในโครงการยังจะได้รับทักษะในการบริหารงานร้านค้า, ร้านอาหาร ,การจัดกิจกรรม และ การประกวดแข่งขันมากมายที่จัดขึ้นภายในสนาม
กิจกรรมทั้งหมดนี้มีจุดมุ่งหมาย คือ สอนให้เยาวชนเรียนรู้ที่จะหารายได้เพื่อการยังชีพ
รายได้ที่เยาวชนหาได้ ทางมูลนิธิฯมิได้หักเก็บเป็นค่าเช่า หรือ ค่าใช้จ่ายใดๆทั้งสิ้น
แต่เยาวชนในโครงการจะต้องบริหารรายได้ และรับผิดชอบค่าใช้จ่ายในการบำรุงรักษาสนามกีฬาเองทั้งหมด
การก่อสร้างของสนามฟุตบอลเชียงรายฮิลล์ ก่อสร้างเสร็จในเดือนพฤศจิกายน 2011
ค่าใช้จ่ายทั้งหมดของการก่อสร้างจำนวนประมาณ 45 ล้านบาทและ ยังคงมีการลงทุนเพิ่มเติมในสิ่งอำนวยความสะดวกต่างๆมาตลอด
งบประมาณในการก่อสร้างและลงทุน มาจากรายได้ส่วนตัวของ เคาทน์เจอราลด์ แวนเดอร์ สตราเทน พอนโธส ประธานของมูลนิธิและคุณสมฤทธิ์ พันธารัตน์ เหรัญญิกของมูลนิธิ
ทางมูลนิธิฯเองไม่ได้มีการแสวงหาทุนใดๆ แต่ให้ถือว่ามูลนิธิฯเป็นผู้ดูแลของโครงการ
เนื่องจากทางมูลนิธิเจ้าพระยาอภัยราชาสยามานุกูลกิจไม่แสวงหาเงินบริจาค หรือเงินทุนจากภายนอกในการบริหารโครงการ
เงินทุนที่มูลนิธิได้รับส่วนใหญ่เป็นทรัพย์สินส่วนตัวของผู้ก่อตั้งและคณะกรรมการ
สนามฟุตบอลเชียงรายฮิลล์ได้รับการออกแบบเพื่อผสมผสานรูปแบบสนามและอาคารให้เข้ากับความเป็นธรรมชาติโดยรอบ ทั้งการใช้สีโทนธรรมชาติ และการปลูกต้นไม้จำนวนมาก
สนามฟุตบอลเชียงรายฮิลล์มีอัฒจันทร์ที่สามารถรองรับผู้เข้าชมได้ ถึงจำนวน 2000 คน รวมถึงพื้นที่ทั้งหมดสามารถรองรับปริมาณผู้เข้าชมได้มากถึง 3500 คน
ถึงแม้ว่าสนามเชียงรายฮิลล์จะไม่ได้เป็นสนามกีฬาที่ใหญ่ที่สุดในภูมิภาคนี้ แต่แน่นอนว่าเป็นสนามที่สวยที่สุด
นอกจาก อัฒจันทร์ และ สนามฟุตบอลแล้ว ยังมีร้านค้า ร้านอาหาร ห้องพักสำหรับทีมเยือน ที่จอดรถ เวทีขนาดใหญ่และหน้าจอ LED ที่ใหญ่ที่สุดในจังหวัดเชียงรายไว้บริการด้วย
ตั้งแต่สนามเชียงรายฮิลล์เปิดอย่างเป็นทางการในปี 2011 มีการจัดกิจกรรมต่างๆเกิดขึ้นมากมาย เช่นการแข่งขันฟุตบอล,คอนเสิร์ต,การชุมนุมโรตารี่ ,บริษัท เปิดตัวผลิตภัณฑ์ ฯลฯ ..
