𝙏𝙤𝙙𝙖𝙮 : 1 มิถุนายน "วันอนุรักษ์แนวปะการังโลก" (World Coral Reef Day)

ต้อนรับเดือนแห่งความหลากหลายทางเพศ ด้วยอีกหนึ่งวันสำคัญด้านสิ่งแวดล้อมโลก "วันอนุรักษ์แนวปะการังโลก" (World Coral Reef Day) ซึ่งตรงกับวันที่ 1 มิถุนายนของทุกปี วันที่พวกเราจะมาร่วมกันสร้างความตระหนักในคุณค่า และร่วมใจกันปกป้องผืนป่าใต้ท้องทะเลให้คงความอุดมสมบูรณ์อย่างยั่งยืน
แนวปะการังเปรียบเสมือน "โอเอซิส" ของมหาสมุทร ซึ่งมีความสำคัญต่อระบบนิเวศทางทะเลในหลากหลายมิติ ไม่ว่าจะเป็นการเป็นบ้านหลังใหญ่และแหล่งอนุบาลของสิ่งมีชีวิตหลากสายพันธุ์ การทำหน้าที่เป็นปราการธรรมชาติช่วยป้องกันการกัดเซาะชายฝั่ง ตลอดจนเป็นรากฐานของระบบเศรษฐกิจชุมชน ผ่านการทำประมงพื้นบ้านและการท่องเที่ยวเชิงนิเวศทั่วโลก
ทว่าในปัจจุบัน ป่าใต้ทะเลเหล่านี้กำลังเผชิญหน้ากับวิกฤตครั้งใหญ่ ทั้งจากกิจกรรมของมนุษย์ เช่น ขยะทะเล มลพิษทางเคมี การทำประมงที่ผิดกฎหมาย รวมไปถึงภัยคุกคามจากการเปลี่ยนแปลงสภาพภูมิอากาศ ที่ทำให้อุณหภูมิน้ำทะเลสูงขึ้นจนเกิด "ปรากฏการณ์ปะการังฟอกขาว" ในวงกว้าง ซึ่งการเสื่อมโทรมนี้ไม่ได้ส่งผลกระทบแค่ใต้ท้องทะเลเท่านั้น แต่ยังส่งต่อความเสียหายมาถึงวิถีชีวิตและการอยู่รอดของมนุษย์เราด้วย
ในฐานะหน่วยงานหลักที่มีภารกิจดูแลรักษาทรัพยากรธรรมชาติ กรมอุทยานแห่งชาติ สัตว์ป่า และพันธุ์พืช ได้ตระหนักถึงวิกฤตนี้อย่างใกล้ชิด และมุ่งมั่นปกป้องแนวปะการังผ่าน "อุทยานแห่งชาติทางทะเล" ทั่วประเทศ ด้วยมาตรการที่เข้มข้น เช่น การประกาศปิดการท่องเที่ยวในพื้นที่อ่อนไหวเพื่อให้ธรรมชาติได้พักฟื้น การจัดระเบียบการท่องเที่ยวเชิงอนุรักษ์ และการบังคับใช้กฎหมายอย่างจริงจัง เพื่อให้แน่ใจว่าสมบัติล้ำค่าใต้ท้องทะเลไทยจะได้รับการปกป้องอย่างดีที่สุด
วันอนุรักษ์แนวปะการังโลกปีนี้ จึงเป็นโอกาสดีที่พวกเราทุกคนจะหันกลับมาทบทวนและปรับเปลี่ยนพฤติกรรม ไม่ทิ้งขยะลงสู่ทะเล เลือกใช้ครีมกันแดดที่เป็นมิตรต่อปะการัง และร่วมเป็นหูเป็นตาในการท่องเที่ยวอย่างรับผิดชอบ เพราะการปกป้องแนวปะการังไม่ใช่หน้าที่ของใครคนใดคนหนึ่ง แต่เป็นความรับผิดชอบร่วมกันของเราทุกคน เพื่อส่งต่อความงดงามและสมดุลนี้ให้คงอยู่สืบไป
