ในความเข้าใจของ ข้าพเจ้า ณปัจจุบันนี้ ไม้กล อุปราชขาดคอช้าง เป็นลูกสวนทวนมุดหลบการออกหมัดเหวี่ยงของฝ่ายตรงข้าม ด้วยท่าทางการเตะแบบหัวหนีตีนเตะของสายมวยไชยา ไม่ใช่แบบหัวตั้ง ตีนยก จึงทำให้ส่วนหัวของฝ่ายเราอยู่ในระยะที่ปลอดภัยในแนวระนาบเดียวกับแข้งที่ใช้ในการจู่โจมเข้าสู่แนวสะพายแล่งตั้งแต่คอเฉียงมาถึงใต้รักแร้ของฝ่ายปฏิปักษ์
ไม้กลนี้ เป็นไม้กลเฉพาะกิจ ที่ครูแปรง เป็นผู้คิดค้นและนำมาใช้ สั่งสอนลูกศิษย์ในสำนัก เมื่อราว 20 ปีที่ผ่านมา
โดยอาศัยมุมมองและความเข้าใจนำเอาท่าเตะมวยไชยาคือท่าเตะฝานบวบ มาใช้แก้หมัดเหวี่ยงยาวแบบจังหวะเดียวกันกับอินทราขว้างจักร ซึ่งท่าอินทรา หรือกงจักรพระอินทร์นี้ ถือเป็นไม้เด็ด ที่มีคู่กับมวยไชยามาตั้งแต่ยุค ที่มวยไชยายังเป็นที่นิยมอยู่ในพุมเรียง ไชยา มณฑลชุมพร ซึ่งปัจจุบันอยู่ในเขตบังคับของจังหวัดสุราษฎร์ธานี
เพราะมีคำกล่าวของครูบาอาจารย์หลายท่านสืบต่อกันมาถึงการใช้หมัดในลักษณะของอินทราขว้างจักร ดังนั้นไม้กลอินทราฯ จึงถือเป็นแม่ไม้หลักไม้หนึ่ง ที่เหล่า ผู้ศึกษาศิลปะมวยโบราณแขนงนี้ ต้องศึกษาและทำความเข้าใจให้ถ่องแท้ครับ

In my current understanding, the "Uparaj Khad Khor Chang" (Elephant Neck Cut-Off) technique is a counter-attack that evades the opponent's swinging punches. It utilizes a head-dodging, foot-kicking stance characteristic of the Chaiya Muay Thai style, rather than a head-up, raised-foot kick. This keeps the opponent's head at a safe distance, level with the shin used to attack the opponent's neck diagonally down to under the armpit.
This technique is a unique technique invented and taught to students by Kru Praeng approximately 20 years ago.
It combines the Chaiya Muay Thai "Fan Bua" kick with a counter-attack using the "Indra's Discus" technique. The Indra's Discus, or the "Indra's Wheel," is considered a key technique in Chaiya Muay Thai, dating back to its popularity in Phum Riang, Chaiya, Chumphon Province (now part of Surat Thani Province).
Passed down through generations of masters, the Indra's Discus technique is considered a fundamental technique for those studying this ancient Muay Thai style. It requires thorough study and understanding.
