Retirement may mean slowing down — but it shouldn’t mean standing still 🤍

Alongside daily turnout in our paddocks and pastures, hand walking is an important part of everyday life for our retired horses at Casaka Stables.
Those extra steps provide gentle, controlled movement and help keep older horses active, mobile and engaged — without the demands of ridden work.

Our walks take them through our lush green grounds and across different surfaces, from grass and sand to firmer ground. This variety provides different sensory and physical input with every step and gives their bodies and hooves a change from always moving on the same surface.

But these walks are about more than movement.
It’s also dedicated one-on-one time with their grooms — a quiet daily moment that builds trust, strengthens their bond and gives each horse individual attention 🤍

Because retirement may change how they move, but movement still matters.

Every step still matters.
