Promoting a healthy lifestyle alongside tourism in Chiang Mai
Free participation – no registration fee
Chiang Mai Municipality, led by Mr. Assanee Buranupakorn, Mayor of Chiang Mai Municipality, is organizing the sports and health tourism event “Walk & Run in the Lanna Way” (Chiang Mai City Run 2026).
The project aims to raise public awareness of the importance of health care, encourage regular exercise, promote physical well-being, and enhance tourism while strengthening Chiang Mai’s image as a city of culture and creative tourism.
The event will take place on Saturday, 21 February 2026, from 4:00 – 9:00 AM, at Tha Phae Gate Plaza.
It is open to the general public and both Thai and international tourists, offering participants the opportunity to walk or run while experiencing the charm of Chiang Mai Old City along a Lanna cultural route that passes key city landmarks, including:

▪️ Wat Phra Singh
▪️ Three Kings Monument

▪️ 05:00 AM – Opening remarks by the MC
▪️ 05:50 AM – Warm-up session
▪️ 06:00 AM – Start: 5.7 km
▪️ 06:15 AM – Start: 4 km
▪️ 08:00 AM – Award ceremony
▪️ 09:00 AM – Event concludes
