Paradise Divers Koh Kood

Paradise Divers Koh Kood Small & friendly german-run dive center. Join us for individually planned diving experiences! And never forget: Diving is fun!

Far from the hectic bustle of mass tourism, a team of passionate divers awaits you on the paradise island of Koh Kood! Here you'll find beautiful beaches, traditional fishing villages and an extensive amount of tropical marine life. It was the perfect place for Mike to establish his german managed dive school as the first on the island, back in 2004. Today everybody on the island knows us as "Para

dise Divers Koh Kood" or simply as "Mikes". We offer daily trips on our 17m boat leaving in the morning, to visit two of the numerous spots around Koh Kood before returning with our happy divers later in the afternoon. The reefs around Koh Kood average in depths around 10 to 12 metres with a water temperature around 28 to 30 degrees Celsius and are in pristine condition. The highlights that no diver should miss are the aquatic national park of Koh Rang and the amazing 100 metre long wreck of HTMS Chang. Surrounded by a huge variety of exotic fish, the wreck lies on the seabed at a depth of 31 metres and is one of the deepest dive sites in the region. If you're looking to plunge into the fascinating underwater world for the first time, the local shallow reefs provide the perfect place to start. Our experienced dive instructors will stay by your side and cater for a safe and unforgettable first-dive adventure! You can also gain deeper knowledge and skills in your dive ability in our multilingual PADI and CMAS dive courses. Right behind our dive shop you'll find our Happy Days guesthouse with nine simple cozy rooms to stay. And if you like it a bit more luxurious, there are the quiet and spacious bungalows located next to our second dive base at the Koh Kood Beach Resort. We look forward to showing you the enchanting underwater world that surrounds the beautiful island of Koh Kood. DIVE CENTER LOCATION
You find our dive center in the bay of Klong Chao, opposite Ngam Koh beach and S-Beach Resort, right next to the post office.

Good buoyancy isn't magic – everybody can learn it.

3 essentials to get there:

🦀 Perfect weight - Our diving guides will help you to find the right amount of weight for you
🥽 Relaxed breathing and breath control: a deeper inhale will take you upwards, a deeper exhale and you'll sink

Parrotfish can be found on all our reefs. There are over 95 species of parrotfish worldwide, and all of them have one thing in common: they scrape algae off coral and rock with their sharp, beak-like teeth – along with the occasional bite of coral polyps. What they can't digest ends up on Koh Kood's beautiful beaches as sand.

Another fun fact: many parrotfish start life as females and later transform into males. The plain, less colorful ones you see are usually female, while the vibrant, colorful ones have made the switch.

They're an important part of a healthy reef, as they keep algae growth in check – without them, algae would overgrow and smother the coral, leaving it no room to grow.

Marine Life Spotlight:
Short-Tailed Pipefish

Pipefish are close realtives to seahorses. And just like them, it's the male who gets pregnant and gives birth.
Their long snout works like a tiny vacuum cleaner, sucking up small crustaceans to eat. They are weak swimmers and they need to move their fin really quick in order to glide slowely above th seafloor.
Luckily, they're masters of camouflage, so they don't have many predators to worry about.

On our dive sites, you'll usually find them resting in the sand. If you spot what looks like a moving stick... look closer. You've probably just found a pipefish! 🐠
