Myanmar is the one that surprises people most 😍

The Mergui Archipelago covers over 800 islands and 36,000 km² of the northern Andaman Sea. The waters were closed to visitors until 1997, and very few liveaboards have operated there since, which means the reefs are uncrowded, the limestone formations and submerged caves are barely touched, and the overall feeling is one of genuine discovery. It is one of those places that simply does not get the attention it deserves.

Underwater you can expect reef sharks, rays, schooling fish, and if the conditions are right, whale sharks and manta rays. The macro life is equally strong, frogfish, nudibranchs, harlequin shrimp, seahorses. Above water, most islands are uninhabited. The only communities you will encounter are the Moken, the sea nomads who have lived in these waters for generations 🪸
