Karate Do Goju Kai Singapore

Karate Do Goju Kai Singapore Goju-Ryu Karate-Do Welcome to the official page of Karate-Do Goju-Kai Singapore. The association is currently led by Eugene Koh Renshi-Shihan (5th Dan).

Our style of Karate-Do is based on the Goju-Ryu style (hard and soft) founded by Master Chojun Miyagi (1888 – 1953) in Okinawa, Japan. Grand Master Gogen Yamaguchi (1909 - 1989), who studied under Chojun Miyagi, unified the essential teachings of Goju-Ryu Karate-Do, founded Goju-Kai (Kai refers to Association). Goju-Ryu Karate-Do not only aims to improve the physical strength and karate techniques

of an individual, it fosters will power and fighting spirit in an individual. Goju-Ryu Karate-Do also focuses on character building and the pursuit of being strong mentally, along with kindness, dignity and thoughtfulness. Indeed, the founding Master Chojun Miyagi said that "Don't be struck by others, don't strike others and avoid trouble”. Karate-Do Goju-Kai Singapore (KGS) is the official appointed International Karate-Do Goju-Kai Association (I.K.G.A.) Singapore Branch. Our sessions:

🥉 33rd SEA Games Bronze Medallist 🥋🇸🇬

We are delighted to share that Isaiah Tang won the Bronze Medal in the Men’s Kumite -75kg category at the 33rd SEA Games, held in Bangkok, Thailand, on 12–13 December. Isaiah fought valiantly against opponents from Malaysia, Vietnam, and Myanmar, clinching an impressive 8–0 victory in the bronze medal match.

Isaiah has been with the club for over 13 years, having joined us at the age of 7. We have been privileged to watch him grow into the mature and dependable senpai he is today. His hard work, resilience, and optimistic spirit, together with the unwavering support of his family, have led him to this proud moment.

A big congratulations and well done, Isaiah, KGS is incredibly proud of you! 👏🔥

As SEA Games 2025 approaches, we take a look back on our athlete's journey here. Their journey is far from easy, as their dreams fuel their determination over the years. Determination, hard work and discipline formed the foundation of their path as they evolved over the years, rising from every setback.

Behind the athletes we see today are the unseen battles: the hours upon hours of training each day, the personal moments sacrificed, the pressure carried silently upon their shoulders. Their passion paired with unwavering determination and resilience has brought them to this moment.

We also recognise and give thanks to the effort and sacrifices behind the scenes by Sensei, Senpais and the many training partners over the years; as well as Karate-Do Union of Singapore for recognising and nominating these athletes to represent Singapore.

This is but the beginning of their stories and we wish them all the best as they embark on their final preparations before SEA Games 2025.
