*Heartbreak in Japan: 🇵🇭 Kenneth “Lover Boy” Llover takes first loss 💔* 🥊 Our very own Kenneth “Lover Boy” Llover just experienced the toughest night of his career.

The undefeated Cebuano warrior suffered his first pro defeat on Saturday, June 6, in Aichi, Japan. He lost by split decision to American 🇺🇸 Michael Angeletti in their IBF bantamweight title eliminator.

But Llover went down swinging. He even dropped Angeletti in round 2, giving his team hope that his perfect KO streak would continue.

He fought hard for 12 full rounds. In the end, two judges sided with Angeletti: 115-112 and 116-111. The Thailand judge scored for the Pinoy. Split decision win for the American.

The loss moves Llover’s record to 17-1, ending his 17-fight, 17-KO run. Angeletti stays unbeaten at 15-0 and now becomes the mandatory challenger for Mexican IBF world champ Jose Salas Reyes.

Head up, Lover Boy. You have a great team and the world 🌎 is ahead of you. Cebu is still behind you all the way. 🇵🇭🥊

🇵🇭LABAN PILIPINAS! Kenneth Llover Ready to KO His Way to a World Title Shot 🔥By Carlos Costa/ 🥊 Mga kababayan, this is it. Kenneth "Lover Boy" Llover is ready.

In Tokoname, Japan, Kenneth made weight perfectly at 58.0 kg for his biggest fight yet.

This is an IBF title eliminator - one win and he fights for a world championship next.

Guided by our own legend *Gerry Peñalosa*, Kenneth looked great! Today he’s walking in fresh, sharp, and smiling.

To remind, IBF rules are super strict. You can’t gain more than 4.5kg before the fight. Kenneth nailed it! Discipline. Focus. Heart!

After the weigh-in, Kenneth had one message:
“I’ll give fans my best fight. And yes, I’m going for the KO.”

That’s our Lover Boy! 24 years old, 17-0, from Cavite, carrying our flag 🇵🇭 with dear hermano Sir Gerry in his corner.

Tonight at Aichi Sky Expo, Japan.

🇲🇽 Nery Does It Again: Overweight, But Casimero Says Let’s Fight! 🔥 🥊 The Mexican former world champio set to face our Johnriel Casimero in Saturday’s co-main event in Japan, missed weight badly at the first weigh-in.

Nery came in 1.5 kg over the 124-lb contract limit.

He had 2 hours to cut more, but only managed to drop 100 grams at the re-weigh. Weigh-in failed.

Since it’s a non-title fight and Casimero gave the green light, the show goes on this Saturday.

But there’s one more hurdle: Nery has a final weigh-in on June 6 at 8 AM.

If he’s more than 10 lbs over the 124-lb limit then, the fight is OFF.

Weight games or just unprofessional? Either way, Casimero’s ready.

Tragic. Pro Boxer/Cop Daisuke Sugita Killed Himself. Too much sadness in his life. The news has shocked both boxing fans and boxing authorities in Japan because Sugita also worked as a police officer in the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department.

The Machida Police Station, part of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department, reported that Officer Sugita was found seriously injured on the morning of May 30th at the police station where he worked.

It's important to know that the Japan Boxing Commission (JBC) does not issue professional licenses to active-duty police officers, which is why Sugita felt sadness and had to develop part of his career in international arenas. This made him very sad because he loved boxing and he loved being a police officer.

Despite the difficulties he faced, Sugita managed to remain competitive and make his way in boxing.

His final record was 11 wins, including 4 knockouts, and 6 losses, results that allowed him to appear in the national rankings for the super bantamweight division.

The last time he stepped into the ring was on March 17, when he secured a victory by decision in an eight-round bout. Sugita was preparing for more fights.

One of the most surprising aspects for the Japanese boxing community is that Sugita remained fully committed to his professional boxing career.

His team says that Sugita was scheduled to return to the ring in August and was training intensely for that fight, which he was determined to win. But something happened. Something terrible. What could it have been? Did the fight fall through? Or some other bad news? No one knows.

For this reason, the news has generated sadness among fellow boxers at his gym, trainers, and fans, who saw him focused on new boxing challenges.

Sugita's death has also sparked a conversation about why there are problems with a police officer also being a professional boxer. It's a pressure faced by many Japanese athletes or boxers who simultaneously hold high-responsibility professions like being a police officer. This isn't the case in other countries. But it is in Japan.
