This page provides regular updates, news and events from Shrewsbury International School. With over 1,800 children, and over 250 teaching staff, a lot goes on at our school. Whilst we a renowned as a centre for academic excellence, we have also built a strong reputation for sports, music and the performing arts. Inspired by the Reggio Emilia principle of the Environment as the Third Teacher, our Early Years environments are thoughtfully designed to spark curiosity from the moment children walk through the door. Through natural materials, purposeful design and meaningful experiences, children are encouraged to question, create and discover.

One School, Two Campuses. One exciting new beginning.

Year 6 students from Riverside and City Campus came together with students who will be joining the Riverside community this August for Year 7 Transition Day, taking their first steps towards becoming one Senior School community.

From meeting teachers and future classmates to experiencing exciting science demonstrations, the day gave students a preview of life in Year 7, helping them feel confident, connected and ready for the exciting journey ahead.

Year 5 students watched the final of the Balloon Debate with great anticipation, having all prepared and delivered their own speeches earlier in the year.

Each House representative delivered their speech with confidence, showcasing the public speaking, communication and critical thinking skills developed throughout the process. It was a fantastic celebration of student voice and persuasive speaking.

Congratulations to all the students who reached the final and competed so impressively, and to Eri and Sitaa, our 2026 winners!

Our Year 4 students brought the animal kingdom to life in their recent production of The Jungle Book, bringing the much-loved story to life through music, drama and dance.

The production provided students with the opportunity to apply and develop the skills they have been building through their Performing Arts learning. Through acting, singing and choreography, students worked together to present an engaging performance, demonstrating the preparation and teamwork that went into bringing the show to the stage.

Our Year 1 students took to the stage for their Singing Showcase, taking audiences on an imaginative journey through stormy seas, the savannah and even outer space through song, storytelling and drama inspired by the books they have enjoyed throughout the year.

As part of their preparation, students developed their speaking, singing and performance skills before sharing their learning with families and friends. For many, this marked their first steps onto the stage and a memorable milestone in their growing confidence as performers.

Congratulations to Prime (Junior School) and Ami (Senior School), the winners of our STEAM Logo Design Competition!

Students from across the school submitted an incredible range of creative and original designs, making the judging process extremely difficult. Prime and Ami's winning logos stood out for their creativity, strong representation of STEAM and outstanding attention to detail.

Our Years 7–10 Speech Day recognised the outstanding achievements of students across the academic year, celebrating excellence, character and commitment in all aspects of school life.

The ceremony reflected the hard work, resilience and determination shown by students throughout the year and celebrated the many ways they have contributed to our school community.
