*PRESS RELEASE: Come fly with us to the top of the league.
Has there ever been a time where life has been better for the Vikings? No, you don’t have to turn the table upside down this time, you can look at it as it is.
The smartest among us can see that we have played a few games more than our opponents, but no one has ever accused Bangkok Vikings of being too smart, so it doesn’t bother us.
No one knows how long these standings will remain this way and coach Nate explains why it is a time to celebrate:
“Some of us understand that being in the number 1 position is probably a result of playing so many games but we just need to take every opportunity to see things positively.
On Friday, Thomas (the bad one) has planned a team party and we are not sure we will come out of it alive, so better just die happy as a league leaders. Also, we know what happened last year when the same man planned the team party. Last year, we had a team party on Friday and lost a league game 1-3 on the Sunday. What followed was a period of almost two months without a win. This year? Team party on Friday and we play a league game on Sunday… What can go wrong? We hope Thomas can learn from history one day, but we doubt it will happen soon.”
There is more to this story: the current table is a result of our friends at Phoenix winning against Red Star in the same week that two players (Nate and Jonno), from said Phoenix, were present at our Tuesday practice. Coincidence? Of course not! It is obvious that those Phoenix players took the opportunity to steal ideas from our playbook for the next game. (It doesn’t matter that we never used this playbook, given our record against Red Star). Either way, the Vikings management are taking action for this obvious intellectual property theft - instead of taking the matter to court, we are offering a fair settlement with any of the following options acceptable:
• Pay a fine of 20M USD (or equivalent in Bitcoin); or
• Out of the 3 points they got from the win, 1.5 points should go to the Vikings; or
• Take Thomas (the bad one) on loan
We are waiting for the settlement and expect it to be solved before Christmas. Until then, Merry Christmas
