Founded on May 30th, 1968 by Dr. Sawai Suthipitak and Mr. Sanan Ketudat, the name "Dhurakij Pundit" literally means Business Knowledge. With the founders’ non-compromising commitment, to produce graduates with knowledge, skills and professional ethics to become valuable members of society, the University embraces the founding principles of "Business People Build the Nation" that has lead our university to become a "Business Resources Academic University". Dhurakij Pundit is proud to host more than ten different Undergraduate, Master’s and Doctoral Degrees across a variety of disciplines. Over 49 years, the University has produced more than 120,000 alumni; 100,000 with Bachelor's degrees, 10,000 with Master’s degrees, and 100 with Doctoral degrees. DPU currently employs a total of 1,100 faculty and staff members, among which 25% are Doctoral Degree holders, and more than 75% have Master’s Degrees. Our campus is located on a lush 40-acre plot of land amidst a beautiful green environment that accommodates modern buildings and state-of-the-art teaching and learning facilities, and is ranked number 1 amongst private Thai Universities on the UI Greenmetric rankings (2021). Being within a short taxi ride from Bangkok’s bustling metropolis means students and faculty can experience the best of both worlds. DPU’s library and learning center allows students the opportunity to study in a modern, well-equipped facility, designed specifically to meet the needs of the next generation of students. Here students can take advantage of a multitude of innovative learning and research resources. Our comprehensive online library database is available to all students, candidates and lecturers to facilitate their research both on and off-campus. On-campus sports facilities including a swimming pool, fitness center, sports courts and more mean that DPU students can exercise and develop their bodies as well as their minds. In addition, DPU is proud to be part of exchange programs as far as the United States, Europe and Australia serving as a bridge between the East and the West; and most importantly, Dhurakij Pundit University is very proud to be part of our great local community and the great country of Thailand.
