One of the biggest mistakes beginners make is trying to reach the next hold as soon as they see it.
Instead, focus on staying in 3-point contact.
Keep three points connected to the wall while moving only one hand or foot. This gives you a stable base, lets your legs do more of the work, and makes every move feel easier.
Of course, there are plenty of situations where you'll intentionally break this rule. Dynamic moves, deadpoints, or dynos all require leaving that stable position. But before you learn to break the rules, it's worth mastering them first.
Sometimes, climbing isn't about getting stronger.
It's about getting into a better position.
