What does a PADI Open Water Course at Flow Divers look like?

Before heading out into the ocean, we spend some time getting to know scuba diving in the pool.

The first pool session is where you become familiar with your equipment and start practicing the essential skills you’ll need for your open-water dives.

We cover things like breathing underwater, regulator and mask skills, buoyancy control, and how to use and manage the scuba equipment properly.

It’s a good environment to take your time, ask questions, practice the skills, and get a real feel for diving before moving into the ocean.

If you’ve been thinking about learning to dive, the PADI Open Water course is a great place to start — and Koh Tao is a pretty special classroom.

Thinking about trying Nitrox on your next dives?

Nitrox, also known as Enriched Air, is a breathing gas with a higher percentage of oxygen than regular air. For properly trained and certified divers, it can be a useful option when planning repetitive dives.
So, what are the benefits?

🌊 More no-decompression time at certain depths
Compared with air, a suitable Nitrox mix can allow a longer no-decompression limit at the same depth.

🌊 Less nitrogen loading
Because Nitrox contains less nitrogen than air, divers can take on less nitrogen during a dive profile.

🌊 Useful for repetitive diving
For divers doing several dives over a day or multiple days, Nitrox can be a popular choice when it fits the dive plan.

🌊 Another skill for your diving toolbox
Learning how to use Nitrox properly gives you another option when planning your dives and understanding your exposure.

Of course, Nitrox doesn't mean “more time underwater” without limits. You still need to follow the appropriate depth limits, oxygen exposure limits, and use a dive computer or tables correctly for the gas you are breathing.
