Participation in pickleball has surged by 223.5% in the past three years, with over 10 million new players in the last year. This rise in participation has led to more tennis courts being repurposed for pickleball, as one tennis court can accommodate more players in the smaller pickleball format.
While tennis continues to grow, with an estimated 24.5 million players this year, there are efforts to compete with pickleball. Tennis has introduced a new version of the game using a red ball and played on smaller courts.
