OK, last freecoaster indulgent post (yeah, right).

HIO BMX Shop told me that fakie stuff you want to roll out of is harder, as there’s the lag before you can pedal. That means the half-cab has to be done on strength (don’t have much of that) and speed. It’s true, so stuff just has to be done faster to make sure you can get out of it…

…or…you can just fakie all the way back ‘round (this was a happy accident!).

This takes a LOT more thought after losing the helping hand of pedal pressure.

But what you lose with that you g*t back in time, because you can take a beat and set up for the half cab more easily without having to back pedal.

But for a worn out, non purchasable polymer insert worth nothing (but everything!) that sits inside a very expensive hub I’m forced to get a whole new hub.

But all is well. I figured it was finally time to try a freecoaster, or at least half commit. BMX Direct Thailand and HIO BMX Shop carry the ÉCLAT Shift that can, with a few minutes fettling, to be changed between freecoaster and cassette. Clever.

Really, really excited now, but come the weekend I fear that will have become frustration.

Managed to pedal grind up (some of) the backside of the hubba and along (some of) the top. To do the lot I’d need wax and light speed, and I have neither.

Aside from the dismount, I’m well happy with this, as it’s by far the highest ledge I’ve done.
