Within our programs we also have all Padi dive courses (from beginner up to divemaster available. Our dive shops are located at Koh Chang Island, Koh Payam Island and Ranong Town. These locations are located in Ranong Province, which is situated at the northern west coast of Thailand.

EVERY DAY MORE PLASTIC WASTE WASHES UP ON OUR SHORES

Weather is slowly changing to the rain season and during this period winds in this aerea are changing from north- east to south-west.

South west winds are yearly common at the Andaman Sea during the rain season from the months May/June up to September/October.

During these months there are less visitors at the west coast of Thailand due to the rainy weather conditions.

And this is what you can't see when you are visiting Thailand's west coast during the months November- April:

54 MANTAS!

Gerade von einem Acht-Tage-Burmatrip zurück gekommen.
Am Black Rock hatten wir einen wunderschönen Tag mit vielen Mantas – bis zu vier von diesen unglaublichen Geschöpfen gleichzeitig tanzten und spielten mit uns!
Die „S.Y. Diva Andaman“ war auch da und zu unserer grossen Verärgerung sahen wir, wie diese blöden Taucher (mit fetten Kameras) wilde Dinge mit den Mantas anstellten; eine Taucherin zum Beispiel rufte einem Manta mit den Fingern etwas von der Haut!
Wie sich später herausstellte, war das keine Geringere als die führende Mantaexpertin auf diesem Planeten, Dr. Andrea Marshall, die einem Manta einen ihr bis dahin unbekannten Parasiten entfernt hatte. Sie ist die Gründerin der MARINE MEGAFAUNA FOUNDATION, die sich der Forschung und dem Schutz der marinen Riesenviecher widmet, sowie Initiatorin von MANTA MATCHER, einer Art Facebook für Mantas, wo jeder Taucher weltweit Mantafotos hochladen kann zur Identifikation und Erforschung ihrer Reiserouten.
Andrea war am letzten Tag unseres Trips so nett, auf unserem Boot einen Vortrag über ihre Arbeit zu halten.
Übrigens haben sie und ihre Kollegen am während ihrer Zeit am Black Rock insgesamt VIERUNDFÜNFZIG Mantas gezählt!
