Dear friends of Jimmy's Drift Inn and Big Game Fishing
I first met Jimmmy when I came to Phuket following the tsunami of December 2004, and we remained good friends all this time. I have many fond memories from the days in Patong, when he had a float tank in his spa and massage, to the crazy times at Baan Kiki, then at the Drift Inn in Rawai, and eventually his last days in retirement on a cannabis farm in the north of the island.
Jimmy was always fun to be with, and loved to entertain with his sharp wit and endless daft stories. I stayed with him towards the end of his life and his passing touched me deeply as I know it did for many of you also.
I have been helping Jimmy with his websites and social media since 2010 and he wanted me to help with the fishing too, but not being a fishing person, it wasn't for me. Rather than close down this page, I would like to keep it going, keeping alive Jimmy's numerous stories, photos and gags that are on this page.
Steve Anderson and his son, Nachainan were good friends of Jimmy and are well known in the fishing community in Phuket. I hope to continue this page with their help providing the latest fishing news & views from Phuket, and of course, plenty of humour in the best Jimmy Stewart style.
I hope, with your contributions also, we can keep this FB fishing community thriving well into the future.
