The Round of 16 and Quarterfinals take centre stage on Saturday, 15 August, with the action getting underway from 09:00 at King Sobhuza Stadium, Nhlangano.

With the knockout stage split across Ground A and Ground B, every match carries the weight of progression, before the surviving teams battle it out for a place in Sunday’s semifinals and final.

As the off-season action begins to taper down, the Legends Cup is keeping the football flame burning - providing a platform where play meets purpose, as 16 social teams converge at the King Sobhuza II Memorial Stadium in Nhlangano this Saturday for the Donate A Pair Legends Cup.

The Round of 16 Draw was conducted at Sigwaca House on Wednesday, serving up some intriguing pairings as the tournament gets set for a weekend of competitive action.

The Round of 16 and quarterfinals will take place on Saturday, before the semifinals and final bring the tournament to its climax on Sunday.

The event, which has received endorsement from the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister, is backed by a strong group of partners and stakeholders, including the Eswatini Football Association, Instacash, Carrot Tickets and the Shiselweni Regional Football Association.

With the InstaCash/Joma partnership continuing to grow, the tournament winners will have the opportunity to walk away with a Joma kit valued at E10,000, among the prizes on offer.

Meanwhile, Carrot Tickets will run a draw on its platform, giving participating teams another opportunity to win a football kit.

More than just a tournament, the Legends Cup carries a bigger purpose - using football as a vehicle to give back and help shape a better future for children.

A preseason battle with plenty at stake in preparation for the new campaign saw Malanti Chiefs edge Pigg’s Peak Professionals 3–2 at Killarney Sports Ground.

For Malanti Chiefs, the tournament forms part of their preparations for life in the MulaSport National First Division, following their relegation from the elite league last season. On the other hand, Pigg’s Peak Professionals are gearing up for their maiden season in the elite league, having secured promotion last campaign.

The Chiefs looked firmly in control at the interval, taking a commanding 3–0 lead into the break.

But Professionals came out firing in the second half, producing a spirited response that saw them find the net twice and dramatically reduce the deficit. Malanti Chiefs were forced to dig deep in the closing stages to preserve their advantage.
