"What harms and destroys us as the people of Tonj often starts from within, from our own sons and daughters, long before our neighbours step in and make the situation worse. If we truly accept that we have become a problem to ourselves, then the best and most responsible thing to do is to reconcile with one another, forgive each other, and bring back unity, peace and respect in our community.
To say that Gen. Aleu Ayieny would not lose sleep over an insult posted on Facebook and then go the next day to look for that person at their workplace in order to have him or her dismissed is a misunderstanding of his character. I strongly believe that Gen. Aleu Ayieny is not the kind of leader who would act in a small-minded, revengeful, or harmful way, unlike some people who may behave like that.
Gen. Aleu Ayieny has clearly shown that our neighbours cannot easily insult us or look down on us. Through his actions and his words, he has proven that he is brave, disciplined, and firm. He represents courage, self-control, wisdom, and true leadership, and he continues to stand for the dignity and strength of our people."
