The Real Way to Dakar by Intercontinental Rally is adventure at its pure form. Very much like the Dakar Rally in 1979-1989.

Navigating the desert in your own vehicle and reaching the shore of Lac Rose, Dakar is a journey packed with challenges. After the famous Dakar Rally moved outside of the African continent in 2009 the founder of the Intercontinental Rally, Jiri Vasatko, decided to organize his own rally. The Intercontinental Rally should go in the wake of Thierry Sabine and be a rally where all kinds of the partic

ipants could come and get a true rally experience. Today the Intercontinental Rally – now The Real Way to Dakar – is an annual off-road competition and adventure rally for motor enthusiasts. During the past 10 years the rally has steadily grown in size and recognition. But we don’t want to let go of the fact that it should be possible for everyone to get the experience of joining us in the race to Dakar.

This week, the entire rally community has lost a true friend, adventurer, and Dakar spirit.

Since 2012, Murchi has been part of the Intercontinental Rally family and of The Real Way to Dakar. Across countless kilometres of desert, bivouacs, challenges, victories, and unforgettable moments, he represented everything this sport stands for: passion, resilience, loyalty, and humanity.

Murchi was more than a rider. He was a personality that brought people together wherever he went. Always ready to help, always carrying his unmistakable energy and love for rally raid. His presence in the dunes and at the bivouac will never be forgotten.

For many of us, he was part of the soul of this adventure.

Today our thoughts are with his family, friends, teammates, and everyone in the rally world who had the privilege to know him.

Thank you, Murchi, for every kilometre shared with us since 2012.
You will always remain part of The Real Way to Dakar family.

Ride high, brother. The desert will remember your tracks forever.
