SLFA/ERFA E-DIPLOMA COACHING COURSE CONCLUDED IN KONO DISTRICT
The SLFA/ERFA E-Diploma Coaching Course has successfully concluded in Kono District, with 32 participants drawn from across the district completing the programme.
The climax ceremony was graced by the Executive Chairman of the Kono District Football Association KDFA Abubaker Mansaray(Abu Mansaray) who commended the initiative and encouraged participants to put their newly acquired knowledge into practice. “The aim of this course is to equip our grassroots coaches with the fundamentals of coaching, build their competence, and ensure they are better prepared to nurture talents from the community level to the elite level,” he stated.
Chairman Mansaray expressed appreciation to the course facilitators, Ishmael Kallon, a certified FIFA Coach Educator and CAF Diploma C holder, and Nykeh M. Junisa, a CAF Diploma C holder, for travelling to Kono to deliver the programme.
The four-day course combined theoretical, practical, apprenticeship and examination sessions, providing participants with essential knowledge and practical coaching methodologies.
The KDFA Executive Chairman also expressed appreciation to Babadi Kamara - SLFA President and the SLFA Executive Committee for revitalising coaching education across all categories. He further acknowledged SLFA Technical Director John Edward Keister and Eastern Region Technical Officer Aiah Musa Fanday for their roles in facilitating the programme.
Chairman Mansaray also recognised the contribution of the Kono District Coaches Union, particularly its Secretary General, Amadu Kamara, for the Union’s support throughout the programme.
He further commended his Deputy Secretary General, Tamba Komba, describing him as a young and development-minded football administrator who is committed to the advancement of football in Kono District and who remained with the participants throughout the intensive four-day programme.
The successful completion of the course marks another significant step towards strengthening grassroots coaching and football development in Kono District.
The programme will next continue in Kenema District, followed by Kailahun District, as the SLFA/ERFA technical team continues its coaching development drive across the Eastern Region.
