| A Year Ago Today

One year ago today, East End Lions were crowned champions of the Leone Rock Premier League 2024/25, ending a six-year wait for the league title.

It was the club’s first league championship since 2019, marking a memorable return to the summit of Sierra Leone’s top-flight football.

A title that brought back the glory, pride and celebrations to the den.

One year on, the memories remain.

Newly provided Premier League Club, Western United are preparing for the 2026/27 League Season with a preseason tournament involving 8 participating clubs from Guinea and Sierra Leone.

The Wild Dogs comfortably beat the National U-17 team 3-1 in their opening game at the SLFA Kingtom Academy, Kingtom.

A Breakout Season For James Jusu Kanga! 🇸🇱

14 goals — the second-highest in the league.
3 assists.
5 Man of the Match awards — the second-highest tally.
Leone Rock Premier League Young Player of the Season.
And a place in the Leone Rock Premier League Ultimate XI of the Season.

Old Edwardians youngster James Jusu Kanga capped off an outstanding 2025/26 Leone Rock Premier League campaign with an impressive collection of individual honours.

His goals, creativity, consistency and match-winning performances earned him well-deserved recognition as one of the league’s standout young talents.

At the beginning of what promises to be a bright career, Kanga has already made a significant mark on the league with a campaign that showcased his quality, maturity and potential.

14 goals. 3 assists. 5 Man of the Match awards. Young Player of the Season. Leone Rock Premier League Ultimate XI.

The numbers tell one part of the story. The individual honours tell another. Impressive!

WHERE ARE THEY NOW? | REMEMBER MOHAMED K. SESAY “KOFI”?

There was a time when Mohamed K. Sesay, affectionately known as “Kofi,” was one of the most talked-about young talents at Wusum Stars.

His supporters desperately wanted to see him start. So much so that frustration boiled over, with some of his fans even turning their anger towards the then Wusum Stars head coach for repeatedly leaving their favourite out of the starting XI.

Then came the moment when Kofi finally got the opportunity his supporters had been waiting for all season, at the Siaka Stevens Stadium against Mighty Blackpool on May 28th, 2021.

His first Premier League start. And what a way to announce himself. With the match against the Tiss Tass Boys heading into stoppage time, Kofi produced the decisive moment, finding the back of the net in the 90+3rd minute to hand Wusum Stars a dramatic 1–0 victory.

The goal was more than just a winner. It was a statement. It was the reward for patience. It was the moment his supporters had been waiting for. And it was the beginning of a memorable Premier League night for the young forward.

The victory lifted Wusum Stars to the top of the Sierra Leone Premier League table, while Kofi was deservedly named Man of the Match after an outstanding display.

May 28th, 2021. A night when Mohamed K. Sesay finally got his chance and made sure nobody forgot his name.
