- You've likely seen magmatic K-Feldspar phenocrysts, but have you ever seen a magmatic K-feldspar megacryst?!?! This particular megacryst is part of the Cathedral Peak granodiorite, the innermost intrusion of the Late Cretaceous Tuolumne Intrusive Suite in Yosemite National Park. These beauties can be found within Tuolumne Meadows, on the eastside of the park in the glacially scoured outcrops north of the parking lot.
