🦇Discover the Secret World of Bats!🌙

Visit Slovenia’s first permanent bat exhibition and explore the fascinating lives of these incredible nocturnal mammals! From interactive displays to a live bat roost camera, there's something to amaze visitors of all ages. As part of the KeepItDark cross-border project, the exhibition also highlights why protecting the dark sky and reducing light pollution is essential for bats and other wildlife.

From project events and study visits to workshops and community initiatives, our beneficiaries continued building a greener, smarter, and more connected Slovenia–Hungary border region. Alongside the lively project activities, the Monitoring Committee also met, discussed several important agenda items related to programme implementation, and approved six projects. 👏

📅 Last week, the Monitoring Committee of the programme met in Banovci, Slovenia, to select standard projects submitted in the first submission round of the 2. Open Call for proposals for approval.

🟩Cycling is not only an environmentally friendly mode of transport, but also an increasingly important driver of sustainable tourism. Cycling routes help visitors discover natural and cultural heritage, support local businesses, and connect communities across borders.

🎯Recognising the tourism potential of cycling, the has supported cycling-related projects in previous programming periods and continues to do so in the 2021–2027 period. These projects contribute to the development of cross-border cycling tourism, the promotion of attractive destinations, and the creation of new opportunities for local economies.

🌍 Today we celebrate the International Day for Biological Diversity! 🌱

Protecting biodiversity is essential for healthy ecosystems, climate resilience, and the well-being of future generations. Along the Slovenian–Hungarian border region, nature and biodiversity are among our most valuable shared resources — and preserving them requires strong cross-border cooperation.

The Interreg Slovenia–Hungary Programme recognizes the importance of this topic and proudly supports 6 cross-border projects dedicated to biodiversity protection, sustainable environmental management, nature conservation, and raising environmental awareness among local communities and young people.
