INTERNATIONAL REGATTA EURILCA EUROPA CUP SLOVENIA 2025 SUCCESSFULLY CONCLUDED

Koper, 2nd March 2025 – Today, after three days, the international regatta EurILCA Europa Cup Slovenia 2025, organized by JK Jadro Koper, was successfully concluded. The competition attracted 147 sailors from 13 countries who competed in the ILCA 4, ILCA 6, and ILCA 7 classes.

The regatta offered excellent sailing conditions. A total of seven races were successfully completed over the three days in all three classes. The final day of the competition was marked by strong northeastern winds, which reached up to 20 knots at the beginning of the day, later easing to 16 knots. With sunny weather and choppy seas, the competitors seized the last opportunities to improve their results.

In the ILCA 7 class, the local sailor Luka Zabukovec (SLO) performed excellently and secured the overall victory. Matej Valič (SLO) finished in second place, and Luca Fajman (ITA) took third place. Zabukovec was also the best in the under 21 category.

In the ILCA 6 class, Josip Tafra (CRO) triumphed in the men’s competition, also winning the under 19 category. Šime Bosna Rusković (CRO) claimed second place, and Lorenzo Gabrielli (ITA) took third place, also winning the under 17 category. In the women’s competition, Carolina Albano (ITA) secured first place, followed by Sofia Naumenko (UKR) and Alenka Valenčič (SLO). In the under 19 category, the best was Nika Fornažar (CRO).

In the ILCA 4 class, Leo Gosling (SUI) claimed the overall victory among the boys with excellent races that secured him the lead. Edi Jurman (CRO) finished in second place, and Bepo Duplančić (CRO) took third place. Among the girls, Giulia Marella (ITA) was the best, followed by Leanne Turrin (SUI), with Marta Tudor (CRO) taking third place.

The regatta concluded in the true spirit of competition. Congratulations to all the competitors for their excellent performances, and thanks to the organizers and support teams for the successful ex*****on of the event.

Day Two of EurILCA Europa Cup Slovenia 2025 Delivers Three Successful Races
Excellent sailing conditions marked the second day of the EurILCA Europa Cup Slovenia 2025. A northeast bora wind, blowing at speeds between 11 and 20 knots, allowed the organizers to successfully complete three races across all three classes.

Sailors had to demonstrate great skill and adaptability as they navigated the gusty wind and slightly higher waves.

In the ILCA 7 class, Luka Zabukovec (JK Jadro Koper) solidified his lead with three consecutive wins. His clubmate Matej Valič (JK Jadro Koper) secured second place, while Karel Ratnik (EST) finished third.

In the ILCA 6 class, Karolina Albano (ITA) took the lead after a strong performance, securing the top position. Josip Tafra (CRO) followed in second place after an excellent day, which included one race victory, while Giulio Felice Gessi (ITA) currently holds third place.

In the ILCA 4 class, Leo Gosling (SUI) climbed to the top of the leaderboard with consistent results. Edi Jurman (CRO) made a significant leap in the standings after securing three consecutive wins, placing him in second. Currently in third place is Giulia Marella (ITA), who is also the top female sailor in this category.

The regatta continues tomorrow, as sailors will seize their final opportunities to improve their rankings.

First Day of EurILCA Europa Cup Slovenia 2025 Successfully Concluded

The first day of the international sailing regatta EurILCA Europa Cup Slovenia 2025, which will run until March 2nd, has been successfully concluded. A total of 147 sailors from 13 countries competed on the water. The ILCA 4 class featured 75 competitors, ILCA 6 had 54, and ILCA 7 saw 18 sailors racing.

After a short wait onshore, a light northwesterly wind (Maestral) developed, allowing the race committee to carry out two races for all three ILCA classes. In the first races, the wind ranged between 9 and 11 knots before gradually decreasing to 6 knots as the last boats reached the finish line.

In the ILCA 7 class, Luka Zabukovec (SLO 221181, U21) from JK Jadro Koper made the best use of the conditions. In ILCA 6, Ursula Balas (CRO 223218, W) claimed victory, with Josip Tafra (CRO 211885, U19-M) securing second place. In the ILCA 4 class, Giulia Marella (ITA 222032, U18-W) took the lead, followed by Leo Gosling (SUI 224698, U16-M).

The competition continues tomorrow, with stronger northeasterly winds (Bora) expected to bring dynamic and intense racing on the water.
